Finally got the rear end to kick out

I turned my traction control off after installing my steeda CAI with tune. Turned out of my friends neighborhood and punched it. Got loose and recovered. I didnt want to be the guy who wrecked his car from a CAI install. Put the traction control on for a bit after that lol.

The 05 Ford GT with its mid-engine RWD and no I said NO nannies @ all. 50 degree weather even when you think your tires are ok ...... don't even punch it in third rear or it will snap so fast it will do a complete spin. There are a ton of damaged GTs out there. It's one scary ass car for sure. It's like the start of the Indy 500 and you see the pros spin on the first lap. Many owners have done that with their GT's.
There's a ton on the internet showing the results of somebody showing a buddy how fast their GT is @ hitting objects.

One of the first cold fronts after getting my car, I managed to do a 540 in an intersection while doing a u-turn. It was cold and rainy and I had cold tires, thankfully it was in the middle of the night and I was able to recover before any cars came. Scared the crap out of me though. Don't be too confident that you know the limits of the car. You probably don't.

You guys scare me. Seriously.

These cars are not uncontrollable or undrivable in less than ideal conditions without nanny-assistance. Never mind that the nannies can't cover you for all situations or all of the driving errors you may make.

It's your control inputs - throttle in particular - where you need to learn better control. If you can't feel the tires beginning to lose grip before they suddenly snap loose, you're doing it wrong. As in, too much throttle too quickly. Don't just stay in it and let TC take over (the lame, no-skill/low-skill approach), learn to stay below where slippage might happen (it's not all that hard).

LOL, yep. After a few too many close calls over the years (and one crash back in 2002) I decided to get a Subaru. I can still take the SS when it's warm and dry out!

Also not being a prick but I never claimed how to manage slick conditions. It was more about throttle response and how quickly the car can bite in rain or snow. Which isa good first step in learning the car

We see so little rain here that it will be years before I really feel comfortable in less than ideal conditions

Haha yeah that's all I meant ;) you kinda stated you have it all under control now ;)

I practice sliding my car every time it rains etc. saves the tires. I am enjoying sliding my 15 gt with pp in 2nd gear. I no longer use 1st its just too short with the 3.73s. :cheers:
