Don't know what a normal build time has been but this was eight weeks. Supposedly, there's some problem with getting it trucked to the dealer. I'd guess the assembly plant is fifteen miles away. Likely, it will ride to somewhere else first. I just wanted it in time for spring, read end of salting our roads.

I order mine on 12/3/18. Ford rep is telling me one thing and my dealer another. Who knows.

I guess mine wasn't too bad, but then again I don't have it either. Took a run today through the dealer's area where they keep orders. Nothing yet. When I ordered I think the salesman said six to eight weeks which I think is the standard answer for any vehicle. I'm surprised at the above two situations.unless they are DSO's or a option that the assembly plant doesn't have those parts.

Look up your window sticker using your VIN number. Look at your Blend Date (at the top over the word "BLEND"). If it's between 1/20 and 2/20, you likely got caught up in the missing steering wheel situation.

There was a supplier strike in Matamoros, Mexico, in January. Ford extended a planned 1 week shutdown by an additional 2 weeks, then restarted the plant. However, they still didn't have steering wheels, so cars made from 2/11 thru 2/24 (up to 8000 cars, per the Detroit Free Press) were made without steering wheels and stored at the plant. They've been working through the backlog ever since, and say they'll be "back on track" by the end of April.

My car came off the line and was parked on 2/18. It finally got a steering wheel, was released for shipment on 3/16, and is currently in transit. Real PITA.

I just got off the phone with the GM at the dealership, He said that ford told him him they are waiting on the center console to be install. And then he said i don't think Ford is shooting us straight.

A large company not providing full disclosure about a potentially embarrassing production situation. This is my shocked face!

Still, I think I saw a story about a month or so ago that there really is a shortage of the "hand stitched" center console covers for cars with the Premium Plus packages. Is your PP1 also a 401A?

At breakfast this morning my buddy mentioned that a friend works at Flat Rock and had been on temporary layoff for a couple of weeks. So that correlates to the above. Didn't hear about the steering wheel dilemma which might be why mine is built but not delivered.

With the 401A, there's a real chance they're not blowing smoke at you. Stupid as it sounds, they really did come up short on the 401A console covers.

I got a little frustrated because every time i spoke with someone with Ford or the dealership it was always something different. I have been a Ford guy for years. I don't mind the wait just want them to be up front and honest. Thanks for your all input.
