Just curious if any of you guys have had a noticeable difference other than more grip (if stickier tires) or if it isn't that noticeable. If any of you have also done a lightweight drive shaft which was more noticeable?

If you take off 5 or lore lbs it's noticeable, but a little difficult to describe. I feel it in the suspension and how the car responds to bumps more than I feel the low speed accel/decel

I really didn't notice a difference. I went from the stock 18" wheel and tire at 54 lbs to a set of MRR M350 and conti tires at 50 lbs. I notice the increase in grip due to the larger tires and better compound more than anything.

I'm hoping I will feel a big difference. I'm going from stoke pp wheels to 19" forgestar cf5v's. should be about 8- 10 lbs less per wheel. In addition rear tir s about .8" smaller diameter so it should change effective gearing about 4% shorter.

I'm hoping for the same thing. In a couple months, I'll be switching to new wheels with a shorter tire.

The lower rotating mass will improve acceleration, braking, suspension reaction, and overall handling.

Yeah it should definitely help! I am thinking of going with some Baer 2 piece front rotors as well. That knocks off another 10 lbs a wheel or something I believe.

Nice... I just wish that new rotors weren't so expensive. My new wheels and tires are going to eat up my car funds for this year. Worth it though.

unsprung rotating mass (eg tires and wheels) gives the most bang for buck in terms of weight reduction.

i went from gtpp and pzeros to m350 and mpss. aside from the difference in grip (mpss are a better tire, plus going from 255 to 275 on front) the difference in the reaction times of the suspension is noticeable.

mind you, the change reduced a significant amount of weight (probably 40+ lbs)

Losing weight in the wheel helps in theory, yes, but the question here is: is it noticeable to the driver.

I want fancy rotors. Someone buy a set for me.

You won't FEEL the difference, nobody's butt-meter is that sensitive, but as you replace components to shave weight, you'll find the car handles better, is more responsive, times on the road course improve ever so slightly, etc. But you may only notice if you've repeated enough scenarios that you can compare the improvements to the baseline.

Kind of what I expected the answer to be. Pretty excited about it anyway.

Losing 10lbs per wheel you should definitely feel. Even 3-5 lbs is normal to feel a difference. Usually more in the handling rather than acceleration though.

My wheel setup weighs in right at 42lb less than the stock PP setup. Other than the suspension feeling way better and the wheels seeming to roll easier, I felt no difference whatsoever in speed or acceleration or whatever if that's what you mean. I do get about 1.5mpg more than I did on the stock wheels/tires, but that may be the PSS just being worlds better than the Pzeros, which they are in every way.

In my 2014 Cyclone I installed American Racing razors at 24 lbs a wheel with 18" 275/40/18 Bridgestone 760's and could feel the handling a little. The DSS shaft was really noticeable. Rotational mass matters.
