I'm looking at:

2018 Mustang GT Coupe - Base
10 Speed Automatic Transmission
Equipment Group 300A

I'm okay with not having a Performance Pack or Premium GT. The only thing the GT must have is the A10.

I contacted an Internet Sales Representative at a local dealer in the Sacramento, California area for pricing. The total MSRP is $37,685. The dealer offered a dealer discount of $3,100. There is also a Ford Rebate of $3,000 as well. This brings the net cost to $31,585. Keep in mind that I have not yet went to the dealership to sit down and negotiate, and this pricing was only discussed through email since I only communicated with the Internet Sales Representative.

What is your opinion on the dealer discount of $3,100? What would be a fair discount for around this time of year now that the 2019 Mustangs are coming in? How much did the dealer go down for you from MSRP?

Thank you everyone in advance for your help!

Its about the average im seeing online. Some others put in other incentives most people don't qualify for to go down another 1000 . Lowest I've seen online is about $29,500 .

That’s pretty much in the ballpark from what I’ve seen as well. If you can get them to knock some more off then I’d say you’re doing good.

Thanks for your responses! Any of you think that Ford dealers will have incentives or more discounts for Black Friday coming up this November?

I paid $34k for mine out the door, but its not a base, it has the Perf Pack and the 10spd auto. So prob $31.5k or so out the door.

That is a very good deal considering yours came with the Performance Package and 10 speed automatic. I'm not sure if the dealers around the Northern California area would be that flexible though.

They have tons of them here, even had two of the exact same car I wanted so they were more flexible. 19's were hitting and the Bullitt was on the lot so they wanted to move em.

That’s a smokin deal for PP 1 + A10. I plan on grabbing one with the same options in Feb or March of next year and would be stoked to pay that.

So I was able to find a $500 off coupon since I was a recent graduate. I talked to the dealership through email only, and they were able to bring the net price down to $31,000 with the coupon. They said they couldn't discount it by the thousands anymore. I'm wondering if I should wait near the end of this month to get a better deal? Or near Black Friday?

Sorry to bring back this thread, but I'm still in the market and wanted to get anyone's opinion on this one:

2018 Mustang GT Coupe - Base
10 Speed Automatic Transmission
Equipment Group 300A

This one also comes with:

3.55 Ratio Limited Slip Axle $495
Black Accent Package $995
19" Black Painted Wheels
Black Painted Roof

MSRP $39,175
Discounts with all the rebates are $6,500. Spoke with the Internet Sales Manager on the phone and the best price he can give me on the phone is $31,100. I'm sure they can go lower as it's a leftover 2018, but my guess is they only have a few hundred to go down to if I walk in.

What do you guys think?

Love the car?

Looks like fair price for “new” to me if you’re seeking validation

I still have to see it in person and test drive it, but its got the options that I want. After only 3 days from contacting the dealership, I just got an email today from the dealer saying that because they are trying to get rid of their 2018 inventory, they will take an additional $1000 off the quoted price of $31,100, now bringing it down to $30,100. :like:

That's a hell of a good price. They had a base '18 GT with ZERO options for sale locally here forever on the lot that they were selling for around the same. If you like the car/test drive it, that's a great price IMO. $9K off MSRP.
