FYI for Vert owners... the sensors are no joke. If I leave my windows down in the garage I can't go in without setting them off through the open windows. It's go to be 'worse' with the Verts and top down. I could see it getting real annoying in a single car garage.

With my current convertible I always leave the driver's window down to ease my tight squeeze getting in w/ my wife's car very close on that side. (I make two cars fit in my two car garage ;))

DOes the system arm automatically? Meaning even in your garage you cannot leave the car unlocked and unalarmed? We never lock the cars in our garage.

This is cool. So if the battery on our keyfob dies, we can still open the car as long as the car battery is fine?

I was worried I would have to tear open that hole in the driver's side door handle.

It's the same as an RFID chip in a credit card... there doesn't need to be a battery in the card for the sensors to recognize it.

I think I've figured it out partially.

The "Active" has motion sensors if the vehicle is bumped or moved in some way (e.g. unauthorized towing), interior motion sensor, and likely a separate alarm as opposed to using the car horn.

This in addition to the wheel locks and the locking middle console.

I believe the only thing that sets off the 'standard passive alarm is a physically opened door, trunk or hood. Like if you left the window open, but the alarm is on, reaching in and opening the door would set of the 'horn alarm sound' (or if someone somehow picked the trunk or door lok w/o key, then opened. The base alarm would not go off if: someone ran into your car, hit it with their door, vandalized it with a base ball bat, broke out a window, climbed (w/o opening door) and took belongings in cab.

The enhanced as said has motion sensor inside, so theoretically if you stick your arm inside an open window, the alarm sound (not horn) would go off. From outside, I understand if car is bumped lightly (or just first sensing?), alarm is a few low chirps. But if continued, full alarm is triggered.

I am unclear how it works that walking near your car in your garage sets Enhanced alarm off. Can those experiencing this, explain in more detail what actions or distances set off the alarm? And can it be set to not arm (like if you do not lock the car in your garage?)

I've set off the horn alarm twice, both times under the same circumstances -- I remote-start the car, and then get in, so the engine is running but the car isn't "on." In the process of getting into the driver's seat, I put my elbow on the center console to shift my weight so I can slide over into the driver's seat. Thing beeps.

I'm glad I found this thread as I was still considering if I should get the 'Enhanced Security Package' or not. For my needs and how the car will be used, I'm gonna pass and put the money towards other after-market accessories.

You may check mavlon tech to see if you could find any security camera that matches your needs. I have been using their cameras in my garage and they have been working great.
