I have a new vehicle that I have been having quite a bit of trouble out of. I noticed awhile back a small amount of clutch chatter when cold when engaging in first gear. I havent been to the dealership yet as the car has lived at the dealership for other reasons but the chatter seems to be getting worse and more frequent. I was wanting to know if anyone else has had this issue and if the dealership has corrected it. The vehicle only has 1155 miles on it....... I have thought about skipping the dealership and doing it myself but hate to with the warranty and everything.

Thanks everyone for any input

This occured to someone else

There does exist another member on this forum who reported this identical problem and I think his car was new. He said no matter what he did, when he would let off the clutch it would simply induce clutch chatter "automatically".

Right now I do not remember how he solved this but I assume he took it back to the dealer. good luck !

here is some reading material for clutch chatter causes:

Thank you for the response I had thought I read about a few users claiming the same thing or close to. With the cold weather in the AM it is def doing it more and more frequently for me unfortunately. The vehicle doesn't even have 1500miles on it, can't begin to say how disappointed I have been in this vehicle.

I have thought about changing the clutch assembly and flywheel myself since I have had nothing but trouble and can't even get into the dealership till the 26th just for them to look at it. Only thing that worries me is the crank relearn, the vehicle is not tuned so I don't have an x4.

I am starting to experience the same thing. Mostly when slowly letting the clutch out, such as pulling a little forward to see out of my parking space, is when i experience it the most. My car has 9k miles on it and it is starting to happen more often.

I have a service scheduled Friday, I will try to have them re-create it and see what they say.
