Just wondering how the factory stripes stand up to weather, washing, polishing etc. I'm thinking of upgrading to a new GT in Orange Twist with black stripes on the top and the doors as per the factory option list. Am I wasting my time?

Get it ceramic coated, and then you don't have to worry about polishing/waxing, etc. Just wash it, and then dry it off with a leaf blower and you're good to go.

The factory stripes are very thick so they'll hold up well even with simple spray on wax, but Ford loves to leave gaps where they meet. I had the factory stripes removed. With Need For Green you had no choice but to get them, but I didnt like the euro stripe either. I had new stripes put on with no gaps. I dont have ceramic coating. Just use simple Turtle Wax Graphene Spray.
