Stock first for 2 reasons...
1. Get cars on dealer lots for street traffic....to match media info releases or ad campaigns...
2. Even more importantly--QC as they start the new build after the change over shut down...make sure everything is flowing (from build processes to parts arriving timely).
If problems (supplier errors etc) crop up Ford can hold the cars without issue for QC checks (and put QC miles on them). If the initial cars were Retail builds and they end up with a big hold (like last Jan/Feb) ...all the girly men waiting for their cars start jumping up and down, crying and bitching like women demanding immediate information....thus stock builds first.
