I also know some GM guys have burned out their NPP modules because they didn't open up their valves on a track day for instance. Why you'd kill switch your NPP on a track is beyond me...

Many tracks have sound restrictions. I was actually hoping that I could run in quiet mode even under full throttle. As it is, I may not be able to run Laguna Seca except on "loud" days.

Yeah I know LS for instance is at 90 dB now? A factory C7 NPP car can low 90's I believe at the sound booth.

My dealer sent me a video of them unloading my car off the transporter, so pretty sure it was still in transport mode with 6 miles on the odo. Was pretty clear they are open during a cold start and then close. Will play with them a bit more once I get the car and see what happens with the different modes :cheers:

It was cold out that night, well for California that is... about 36-38F.

It's not a mystery. The valves close and open on startup to ensure they're responding properly and if they aren't, then drive modes are limited.

Interesting you mention this... after startup today I got a error message when trying to switch to Sport mode. Read something like "Mode not available" and it switched to track mode. All modes blacked out except Normal and Track. This only lasted maybe 20 seconds and was fine after that.
