I can assure you that catless headers with x pipe and stock active is still ungodly loud. The first start of my car with this exact setup, I ordered the magnaflow tru x resonated x pipe. I 100% suggest adding resonators after the x or getting an actual resonated x that would bolt on. My buddy had same issue and he put the borla one on I believe. Trying to see what exact exhaust he has. I’ll let ya know
He messaged me back. He has the borla attack. But his other friend has same setup as you but added the borla resonator and absolutely loves it.
Yeah I had the carless headers/ x pipe/ stock active before and it was plenty loud. I went with the Corsa system and loved the exotic sound but the volume is way too much.

To preserve the second hand value of my Corsa cat back system, I'd seriously jump on that Borla resonator and bolt that in before considering more drastic options.

Plan A) Add Borla resonator ( will take before and after videos with decibel meter to measure sound)

^ Is this the resonator you mentioned?

Plan B) Swap in a Stock active active system possibly with a resonator as well

Plan C) Ditch headers and buy Stock manifolds from Ford and pair with Corsa cat back setup and sacrifice 30-40 hp for a quality sound without being over the top

Holy. I didn’t know they cost that much. Sheesh. I’d keep looking around at other resonators.

Not a bad price if it makes my exhaust more livable.

Did your friend with long tubes/ Corsa cat back say that the Borla resonator bolted in fine without any changes?
Borla says their resonator pipe only works with their cat back systems

Borla resonator is 2.25" connection x 2.5" perforated core x 2.5" expanded to 3.0" rear slip connection. You'll need to verify the centerline dimension between the Borla and CORSA before hand.... Borla Resonator should be close to OEM centerline @ 110mm center to center.

I recalled this thread and wanted to share. You’ll find differing opinions on the MF 12469 2-1-2 mid but the 1/4 mile time slip tells another story. MF is on record stating a 5~8 dB reduction. That get it done for sure.

You have two affordable choices, MF or Jones. IMO the MF will knock down the dB’s a bit more than the Jones.

I have a 2018 mustang Gt with Kooks LTH Green catted and MBRP Street cat back. It's loud but not extreme.

Exhaust question

Car: 2021 Mustang GT PP1 with Active Exhaust
Setup: Catless longtube headers + corsa extreme catback is too loud
I love the sound but the volume is too much.

People have suggested resonators however others have told me they won't reduce overall volume much, mid mufflers supposedly cause horrible drone.
Corsa support obviously told me to ditch the headers to lower the overall volume ( I did just buy the cat back and would love to keep the more exotic sound)
I am not drag racing, it's a street car and I care more about the overall experience than any numbers

Do I go back to stock manifolds with cats and lose 30-40hp? ( this has been the most common suggestion)

Or do I drop my Corsa cat back and put on a quieter cat back like a stock catback? ( keep the sound at the cost of a few hp)

Thanks for reading

Put the cats and go with an aftermarket resignator

I’m in the same boat with my Whipple’d GT350. Catless ARH long tubes with Corsa valved exhaust. When the valves are open it’s embarrassingly loud. I’m thinking about adding a pair of these into the mid pipes.
my GT also with a Whipple, has cats and a Magnaflow Competition cat back and I’m happy with how it sounds.
