Hey guys, I've been trying to figure this out for 100%, sure. Going to do a resonator delete, the factory exhaust is 409 stainless, right? Called Ford Performance, they weren't exactly sure.

Yes 409SS. You should consider replacing the x pipe as well. The restriction before and after is considerable as well as the x pipe itself. Both measure around 2.35" while the x pipe itself is 2.5" with the remainder of the tail section at 2.75". The midpipe is all 2.5" as well as the short section behind the mid-pipe collar clamp. I can certainly see why the aftermarket is picking up 18hp or so with just an exhaust change.

Is there anyone is making an X pipe that you can use without replacing the headers? I have not been able to find one? With Kooks you have to use their headers. Thanks for your help!

What was their reason? The exhaust diameters are a match. That leaves the spacing and the length if long enough after the x-pipe to replace the resonators.

I like to disassemble things.

Spacing would be easy enough to tweak if necessary. That leaves (as you said) length.

Then again, that is one ugly looking X assembly from Ford Racing. Stevie Wonder should not be welding on the side for a few extra bucks.

Agreed, that thing is hideous. You can get a universal x-pipe from magnaflow for around $100

I don't think there is much to be had replacing it, but hey it looks nicer!

I agree Tob. Wouldn't be the first time that Ford used a prototype for their picture. Any pics of one received by a forum member for their GT?

I've never had one Magnaflow product that fit my car right two Magnaflow Comp systems and a cut and clamp X pipe and one of my Maggy Comp systems blew out. I've been through products from Kooks, Borla, Stainless Works, Ford Racing, and Flowmaster and never had a problem with any of those. Never again from Magnablow. I'll just be cutting and welding, a friend is doing it who has a shop and he does good work.

I don't see why this would not work. The weld looks much better in this video btw.
