Is active exhaust worth it on an Ecoboost?

My last mustang (2020 Ecoboost) didn’t have it. This time, I’m building an EB and I want to add it but wondering if it’s worth the cost. While it used to be like $800, it’s now an extra $1225. I know eco’s are notoriously quiet which I don’t necessarily mind, but does the active exhaust really make that much of a difference on an already quiet car? Is it worth the add on for $1225?

I think you can only get it with the HP package but as far as EB's go... yeah its worth it. it sounds good. better than most aftermarket units i've heard. you can hear the turbo whistle at idle.

Is HP high performance? I placed my order for a regular EB with the black accent package & 101A. I was told I can add active exhaust in the next few days if I decide I want it. Happy to hear it makes a noticeable difference in the sound!

I stand corrected, its only required on the base model. if you have premium package you can get it on its own. yeah man go for it.

That’s right. No HP required on the premium (which makes no sense). Also only $1225 not, $1400.

And yes, it sounds pretty darn good.
Wait I didn’t get a premium, just a regular Ecoboost. I’m happy to hear it sounds good 😃

Just to be clear…..you can’t ADD ACTIVE EXHAUST to an already built EcoBoost model. The exhaust tips cutout in the rear valence is for single pipes each side….not double pipes each side too.

I’m aware of that, haha. I custom ordered my car yesterday. Unfortunately Ford doesn’t work that fast so it has not yet been built.

I really like it on my HPP. Like ihasnostang above, I have mine set to quiet when I leave for work and then switch to Track when I am downtown. Now, someone will post that nothing sounds like a V8. And they are right, but I love my HPP.

I like it on my 2019. I have it set so that between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. the car starts in quiet mode. That way I don't wake my wife when it starts up. Once driving through the subdivision I hit the sport mode. Much better sound with the options, even "normal" setting is better than a stock ecoboost tone.

I have a GT on order but I still think the HPP is cool as hell.
