Hey guys,

I have a rather childish question, but it's been bothering me.

I have a full catback exhaust and a manual. Every time I downshift, or just do a little throttle blip in neutural I only hear 2-3 pops/crackles. Is it only happening because I'm running stock tune?

I'm planning on getting MPT tune (for other benefits) and I'm curious - since the tune makes the car run more rich (more fuel dumped into cylinders) will that result in more crackle/pops in my exhaust?

I put way too much thought into this, but I feel crackle/pop deprived.

That's exactly it! When my car was stock and I heard my friends s197 V6 I was so fucking excited just to be disappointed later on when I got my exhaust.

What is so different in s197 that makes them pop more?

I'd be interested to hear sound clips of your exhaust set up. I've been considering the MagnaFlow race series. Thanks.

Hey guys I have the mpt tune and it crackles and pops when I down shift I have x pipe and axle backs. I especially love when it does that when I go through a underpass.

You have Solo catback? Did the GT one fit or did you have to modify it? I'm a big fan of Solo on the GT and I'd love to hear it on the V6.. please upload a video!!

It's all pipe. No mufflers. I could of gone to a local shop and done a straight pipe set up with some chrome tips and would of saved myself some money.

Yep. Although the kit does have some bends here and there where it connects to the resonator, now and x pipe for me, but I highly doubt they help in any way shape or form.

I'm one of the first V6's (self-proclaimed ) with their V6 catback that is the final product. I'll try to record some videos today and post it in a separate thread.

Right before I got my SCT X4 tuner my car popped every time I did anything, unfortunately some of the pops didn't sound as good as others. After I tuned the car, I noticed it doesn't pop as much, but the bad pops are completely gone.(bad pops in my opinion are the ones that sound like bubble wrap, good pops sound like gun shots). If the tune can decrease the pops, im sure it can increase them as well.
