Being these cars are riddled with evap problems and my car is currently out of its bumper to bumper warranty. I figured I would prepare myself should the worse comes..

Any suggestions on what to do to be prepared. I’m moderately mechanically inclined. I like doing research before hand. Probably the most in-depth thing I’ve done was a cam swap in a 3V S197 that I’ve owned in the past. It went by flawlessly. Took longer than most being it was my first and only time doing one..

Anyhow, any suggested resources removing the dash should this black cloud rain down upon me lol..

I guess I have the mindset that instead of letting some jackleg mechanic do it that I would tackle it should the situation come up.

air blows cold as of now.. no issues on temp. I have noticed that I get the varying blower motor speed issue. But it’s not every time I drive it. Blows cold out of all of the vents.

For shiz and giggles I put a cheap gauge on the low side of the ac system that comes with the more expensive ac recharge kits. (Had some ac issues with a 96 Cobra I had in the past). It shows to be in the “good” range. I did notice however there was greenish looking film on the inside of the ac line cap. It was wet from condensation of course since it’s hot as balls out in Louisiana. Wonder if that’s a tell tale sign of it being previously diagnosed, repaired, or a bandaid was applied.

I figure if I can bribe a few buddies to lend a hand that I can tackle it..

Not unless someone here knows a good shop in Louisiana that can not totally bend me over on changing it.

Sucks how these cars perform, look, feel, sound, and drive so great while having this terrible flaw..

Figured I would have a game plan laid out before hand than going at it at the last minute blindly...
