BTW although I have the confirmation from Ford that mine is actually reaching Baltimore, I cannot see the car/order in cotus.ford.com, is that normal?

The feedback I got from my dealer was, that the 12+ month delay is about the 5 lt. models.
The Ecoboosts have a normal delivery of up to 6 months.

A friend of mine in Greece got his EB in 6 and a half months.

I have seen that happening before with popular cars; I remember in Greece, back in 2005 I believe, in order to get the VW Golf GTi there was a waiting period of 12 months. And the car was coming from Germany to Greece not from the US to AU, but there was such a demand that they could not predict.

Anyway I believe that they did not expect such a massive success of the model plus that it was the first time they were building the RHD ones.
Fair enough, though it's embarrassing the fact that 10 years later we have the same problems...

Consider yourself lucky. I ordered sept 4th 2015 and expecting August build.
Still haven't received VIN?.
Extremely frustrating :frusty::frusty:
Sounds like something was amiss there. That's another thing though, trust. The dealer never provides you with evidence that it is in 'the system', and you will never know where you are in-line, how many priority orders are going in front, shifting the delivery time around as they wish.

@adabedas I originally ordered an Ecoboost as I wanted to check out a V8 first and see if it was worth the extra cost, I was told 11-12 months then.

I was also told this wonderful tale about how you can just put down the $1000 returnable deposit to get you in the queue and then the dealer will give you a call to confirm your order 3 days before the cut-off date when it goes in to the production system. You can check out the V8 and drive the demo car when it arrives and make any changes to the spec/colour etc up until that date.

Well I never got a call to drive the demo car, I never got invited to check out a V8 (one of the staffs), I never got the call to confirm my order. When I went in to chane my spec to a V8 I was met with surprise and "ooohhh I'm not sure they will do that now, we will have to check and get back to you".
I asked, "So what happened to the we'll call you and confirm your order blah blah". The reply - "there's been a rotation of staff and I've just taken on this account so can't comment on what was said by the last salesperson." How's that for service!?

Luckily I was able to change my order, but when I was there I nearly cancelled it all together especially when I was told it was going to be a Feb 2107 delivery. Based on this experience, I already started looking for my next car, and its not a Ford.

Hi M1tch, I will have to agree with you, that this is at least inappropriate from the dealer's side.
I just hope that you will enjoy the car when it arrives. For me now that the countdown has started it seems that the last 2-3 months will take much longer than the first almost 9 before I got my VIN...

That's true, and no I know it's coming I can't stop looking at things other members have done and getting ideas, I really don't need the distraction haha so I'm happy with September timing :)
I also can't see anything in cotus, I will just check back with Ford AU Facebook early August like they said to do.

Happy to share a ship with you Murray! Let's hope they both get one soon and don't have to sit too long at the port. We are getting a few now in the Caboolture area
My GT is booked on the "PARSIFAL' with departure on 26 July, arriving Brisbane on 25 August - Very Happy :)

seems like a lot for Brisbane this load. Not sure the dealers will cope with this many deliveries. Been a bit slow in the Ford camp last few years.:ford:

Sorry if it's you but one of the Brisbane cars has been 'off loaded' from Parsifal.
