Do you have a build date yet?

Was your vin only available last week? Or did your dealer only inform you of your vin last week?

Dealer told me at the start of March, expected late March build and eta late July.
Got VIN from Ford Facebook, message to Deysha who advised tentative BUILD April 25 but to check in next week for likely firmed up build date

He told me a long long time ago it was a May build, so given your predicament that indication from the dealer may hold true, just surprised inferences from others on the forum (when ordered versus build estimate) seemed to have me at the back of the FAR queue.....I guess although I haven't heard anything he is yet to shift off his original commitment...yet!!

We booked 3 cars between us friends and family. 2 x GT and 1 Ecoboost:

1. EB Fastback Auto - booked 5th of May 2015 - Metro Ford Brisbane. - Built 25-02-2016, Currently sitting at Baltimore, possibly be on Tijuca

2. GT Fastback Auto booked 11th May 2015 - Sunshine Ford GC - Built 23-03-2016 (previously advised 21-03-2016), was in Transit a couple of days ago, should be on Port Baltimore latest in next couple of days. May or may not be on Tamerlane and I will be surprised if it gets on Tijuca.

3. GT FastBack Auto booked 11th of June 2015 - Sunshine Ford GC - Suggested build in June 2016, no VIN yet. :(

But I noticed some cars ordered in June 2015, has already been allocated, April Build.

We have 3 cars booked at a week and months gap and one would hope that that's how they should arrive too.

But comparing the above information and how people are getting their cars built in March or April even when they booked in June last year, I can draw only 2 conclusions:

1. Its all over the place and no one at knows what is happening, even when the dealer at the time of booking told me they will have no say in it and after booking it will be Ford Australia controlling everything and will be directly talking to the customers to avoid fake bookings and fleet bookings etc, which now looks like all Bull**** to me.

Because so far we have not received a single email from Ford Australia, while according to dealer we should have already received at least 2 emails before we got our VIN.

2. or its dealers doing their own things in the background and trying to get away with it by simply pointing fingers at Ford Australia. Our dealers simply lost interest in us as soon as we paid deposit, which looks very typical of Ford Dealership/Dealerships. Its all about the booking, once they have your deposit, that's it, until its time to take delivery of your car, which is taken care by another staff, so your sales rep is pretty much out of picture after you pay deposit.

I was told by our sales guy at Sunshine Ford that I can only test drive, Ecoboost or a GT. I was not allowed to test drive both and when I decided to test drive GT, he later changed that too and said I can only test drive an EB because they don't want too many K's on the cars and won't make GT a demo car. This is the reward you get if you book 2 cars from same dealership.

However if you haven't ordered a car yet, they will bend backwards and let you test drive both.

WTF (Welcome To Facebook - don't take it wrong)

I saw the sales person opened a sold car for a potential buyer, which should not even be on display if its already sold. So take your car away from dealer as soon as you have inspected the car. It doesn't seem to be good idea to leave it with them if you are ready to take the delivery and there are no issues with the car.

Its just the feeling of owning this car which is keeping us calm otherwise there are hundreds of reasons to be unhappy and get angry at dealerships and Ford itself. :headbang:

Note: There is no such thing as first come first serve....period.:frusty:

As I posted earlier, I ordered 27 June and have supposedly been allocated a late April build. I've just PM'd Deysha so we shall see if there is a tentative build date.

I'm of the opinion that it's an absolute circus. It seems their is no continuity in the process and build dates do not seem to mimick order dates. I'd be a little mad if I didn't have a build date in April, given that's what my salesman estimated delivery date, I'd be even more mad if I ordered in April or May and it wasn't built by now

I get why there isn't a perfect correlation between order and build dates. They try to build them in batches as best they can. Our cars have very few options remember, so if they have say 100 magnetic GT Convertibles ordered within 3 months of each other, they would probably try and build them all at once

I'd have to agree, plus let's not forget the impact snow/severe weather has not just on cars leaving the plant but parts supply. I lived in Chicago for 7 years and when snow storms hit everything grinds to a halt and all industry production takes a while to ramp up and then catch up.
It is annoying to see others get their machines when our order was placed beforehand, but I still trust that Ford is trying their best to cater for a much larger demand globally than they ever imagined.
Just my 2 cents worth.

My build date of 31 March 2016 has now appeared on ETIS but not the extra details as yet. About time since I ordered on 17 March 2015 and I see above that there are cars built that were ordered in May. Probably because of my dealer I suspect.

Don't worry Mark, the detailed specs do not appear until 4-5 days after the build date. Atleast there is one thing that is locked and can not change now, that you car has been built. :)

I feel sorry for you, myself and others whose cars were built after the cars ordered after us. But I have now started to concentrate on my car which has been built and enjoy that feeling which I don't want to spoil by keep thinking about "why my car not built earlier". ;)

I agree, I am happy for anyone that has had their car built. I rely on this forum and the MOCA forum to keep me updated on issues. At least I've got time to research a few things like mods etc so I can prepare for the arrival.

Dealer just said my Dec 2016 order is now scheduled for a May build!

My May 2016 order is an April build, so hopefully (for everyone) that means there is a bit more priority being given to AU and may be the end of 14+ month wait times.
(And still don't have an ETIS update for the April build :/ )

My window sticker just appeared! Yay! :D still no update to the schedule build date in ETIS. But guessing because I have my window sticker, it should be getting built in the next week? That was the estimate Ford Aus FB gave me on Friday as well.

Has the correct colour, transmission and wheels on it which is good. Oh and it says "sync 3" ;) lol.
