Hello All,
My 2015 Gt Premium with 49000 miles is blowing cool air with the temp set at 84. Expressway driving the the air becomes warm like normal but when I come to a stop( with the fan set high)cool air is coming out the vents. Is there a recall for this or is this sound like a thermostat repair? I hate to go to the dealer to hear mention a 500.00 repair. I checked my coolant Ievel and it was below minimum. I will add coolant and see if this helps. Appreciate any help with this matter or if there is already a thread please direct me to it. Thanks again Mustang6g

There is a design flaw in the AC evaporator core. You will find MANY threads documenting the information on the forum. Yours probably failed.

Unfortunately it’s a big job to replace, assuming that’s what it is. Your engine coolant level won’t affect your AC performance, two separate systems.

EDIT: Sorry, read your post wrong. Most people would hope for your issue versus what I mentioned lol.

Is is blowing cool air out of all the vents? Last year I had an issue with only the 3 vents from left to right blowing warm air and the other 2 we're blowing cool air. They determined it was the blend door actuator and it fixed the issue...so far.

If your rad hoses are hot after driving a long time it's unlikely it's a thermostat problem. If you can see coolant in the coolant degas container it's unlikely to cause a heat problem if slightly below minimum. A defective A/C evaporator would cause inefficient or no interior cooling not a poor heat problem. Likely as angermgmt14 said it's a blend air door problem. Either the actuator may be defective or the blend air door may be broken. I know my old 05 had a HVAC reset procedure that could be tried before looking for other defects but I don't have a 15 manual, to verify if it's HVAC controls can be reset to default as well.
