You can use a heat to heat the adhesive on the 5.0 badge and a putty knife to gently lift up. If you want to paint the engine cover two different colors, there are plastic welds on the underside that need to be cut or ground of and the two pieces will then separate. As for letters, I tried with an extra set of coil covers I bought and found it to be a pain with my poor paintbrush skills, but if you attempt I recommend some enamel paint that has been thinned well to ensure good coverage, mine was to thick and could see brush strokes and where I had started and stopped again. In the end I decided not to paint the letters a separate color.

I painted my coil covers and engine cover with high heat engine paint (with ceramic). I used the gloss that goes with it. On the engine cover I did the center section only. Didn't separate the pieces to paint things, and carefully masked around the badge. I used a tiny screwdriver to tuck tape down between the cover and the badge. Then I simply masked the heck out of the sides and it came out perfect. Looks good even close up.

Have plenty of light in the shop when painting. There are some places that you can miss.

Is there any way too get factory colours in spray cans?

If you pull the two parts of the engine cover apart how do you re assemble them and put them back on?

So here's up I did, went to auto parts store and bought a can do the old ford blue engine spray paint, and a can of red spray pain, and a roll of blue painters masking tape, spent a weekend putting primer on first then spray painted 2 coats with drying time inbetween. Then I put blue blue masking tape over the letters and using an exacto knive cut out the letters this takes time and patience. I then spray painted the letters red, 2 coats

I'm sure you can get factory colors in a spray can, just not sure on cost. Advance auto parts sells factory paint colors in cans, pretty sure they're duplicolor. If they don't have it, the internet is your friend lol.

As for putting it back together, you should just be breaking/cutting off the plastic welds. When you take the cover off and flip it over you'll see them, they're black circles. Once you cut it you'll see that the top piece has posts that sit into the holes on the bottom piece, where they're then plastic welded to keep from moving. I would just use done epoxy to get it back together however I just set mine back in and left it without any glue in case I wanted to change colors or something. The only way it'd come off is if I rolled the car, and if that happens I'm pretty sure I won't be worried about the engine cover lol

I went with Ford Blue as well. If it's good enough for the Boss... And besides I wanted some thing besides the car color. If only this website wasn't weird and would let me post pics from Flickr!

I drilled out the plastic rivets and used stainless allen head bolts to replace them.
