Haha that's great! I work in hospitals so that prolly wouldn't work lol. Yeah I originally wanted deep impact blue but didn't want to wait for one. So got white and glad I did, don't see many of them and it's just a clean look.
I work in EMS so yea... I had some down time lol ya know earn money sleeping haha:D

Can't make up my mind about the color I want. The ford racing blue is kind of classic, but that gold keeps getting to me. Too garish, though? Can't make up my mind!

It's all in your taste man, I did gold to be different and you don't see it often under the hood. But I understand your dilemma, I had the same problem on what color I would want. My only advice is, when you paint it, mask it really good and take your time.

Did you cut it apart like the OP did? I definitely won't be doing that. And how many coats of primer and paint did you do? Do you mind telling me the brand also? (SORRY! :hail: )

I didn't cut anything, I just made sure I mask off the middle part really good, newspaper works wonderful to tuck in between the middle and sides of the engine cover where there is that gap (hope that makes sense lol). I actually wet sanded both the valve and engine cover with 1000 grit then cleaned it off.
I used 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of actual gold paint. You can use any engine enamel paint. I used the paint that's rated at 500 degrees.
