Any advantage in buying your own tuner, for future tuning?
Also are long tube headers built into their tune, or would you need to have car tuned for them.

You can use the included SCT tuner for custom tunes as well. The EB tune most likely will throw a CEL with long tubes as it's meant for stock emissions gear.

Check with your tuner on what specific parts they recommend for your build and buy a tuner kit. Only California idiots like myself need waste thousands on poor running Carb tunes and kit included injectors that tuners don’t want to touch.

Just a heads up, Derive, the parent company of SCT got hit with a huge fine and sent out a rather large updated firmware to SCT handheld tuning devices. This update removed the ability to adjust emissions settings. You will want an SCT device with an older firmware version to avoid this. This most likely happened because of the other company, BullyDog, who Derive owns are famous in the diesel world. And every modified diesel loves rolling coal. Also, if you have an SCT device, don't update the firmware if you care about modifying your car.

I would definitely look into getting a custom tune with the SCT hand tuner. You'll be able to get it dialed in a bit more and when the time comes to throw more boost at it, you already have a relationship with the tuner.
