It's just a little hat-tip, like the skunkworks sticker under my trunk lid. The old 2.3 and this one really have a lot in common.

Ordered two for my ecoboost and ended up with a GT paid 60 for both would take 45.

That's cool, but is it truly an "SVO" creation? Just curious if that entity was affiliated with the production of the EcoBoost Mustang. In fact, I'm not even sure if SVO exists anymore. "Much to learn, there is," as Yoda would say. I'm gonna start digging. You've got me wondering. Like the SVO badge though. :)

Svo could be most compared to svt today (even though that doesn't really exist in that manner anymore either)

The ecoboost is in no way a svo or svt creation. And technically, because of that, isn't a direct descendant of the Svo. Badge it like you want it though, it would be cool. Definitely not as wrong as badging a v6 as gt or gt as cobra/Shelby etc.

Thanks, man. I appreciate the information. I don't want to misrepresent what I drive. (Said the guy who put "Mach I" stripes on his '07 GT!) In my defense, however, when I showed the car, I referred to it as a "Mock I" because Ford never produced a Mach I in 2007. LOL

With all of that silliness behind me, I think it would be just fine to add an "EcoBoost" emblem or decal to an EcoBoost Mustang. It's simply a variant. Honestly, I'm surprised Ford didn't do exactly that. And I'm equally surprised they didn't differentiate the Eco from the GT model more! If I were a V8 owner, I would probably raise an eyebrow over that oversight; the GT is a totally different animal. Why didn't they do more to set it apart?

Every time I see a 2015 I wonder the same thing. I don't think that Ford should have been too obvious with the badging but a subtle hint that there was a turbo under the hood sure would have been nice!

I think they were trying to hide the turbo honestly. They eliminated the induction noise, there are no special badges, they lowered boost to give it an N.A. style flat torque curve, and they put a lot of effort into eliminating turbo lag.

Is it the first ecoboost without an ecoboost badge? Maybe they wanted to make ecoboost associated more with economy than boost. Advertising it on a sporty car isn't the image they want. Lets fix that for them lol.

I'm really happy with the 2.3 turbo engine so far but the "EcoBoost" name and green leafy logo just don't have any place on this vehicle (same could be argued for Ford Trucks as well), so I won't be adding any logos.

If I did, I'd be inclined to do something along these lines:

This whole new Mustang deserves as much a brand refresh as any product. It's a new car from top to bottom, and now that it's available globally, they're casting a wider demographic net.

I'd do whatever I could to make the turbo inline four as desirable as possible. This model is just as sexy as the GT, it's just sexy in a different way. The GT may be a cute cheerleader, but the EcoBoost is a gorgeous librarian. Smart AND sexy.

It's actually pretty easy to tell an EB from a GT. Couple things...

1. The front grill, the GT has the "fangs", EB doesnt.

2. Side fenders, GT has 5.0, EB nothing.

3. Rear deck lid, GT has GT emblem, EB has just the running horse. V6 has tri bar with running horse.

To me it takes about 3 seconds to tell what type of Mustang it is!

I'm making a kit for the rear emblem. Painting the mustang horse gloss black. Installing a LED into the eye of the horse. It will match the color of the car when the car is on. Then switch to red when the brakes are applied.

Sounds interesting. But why mask the chrome pony with black paint? Won't it just look like an LED floating on your decklid?

Good point, I just don't like the chrome. The light will be very subtle look. But, I will see how I like it in chrome first.

I hear you. A lot of people have an aversion to chrome for some reason. In excess, anything is bad, but the Mustang doles it out very conservatively, in my opinion. I think it's quite tastefully applied, sparingly even, considering what they could have done. But I totally dig your approach, either way. ;)
