Happy new year. I noticed black calipers with the Brembo logo on a 2021 EcoBoost high performance/handling package. Mine is a 2020 and the brakes don't look like that. Did the hpp get an upgrade in 2021?

I believe the 2020 has the same caliper without the Brembo branding.

Thanks. But I am confused. Does the HPP / handling package have brembo brakes or not. My Ford service manager says no but a specs sheet I saw says yes.

The Eco HPP gets the base GT brakes, which aren't Brembos. GT PP1 front brakes are Brembos, with floating caliper non branded brakes on the rear. The Ford.com configurator for an Eco HPP build only says "Large brake rotors with four-piston fixed calipers". If they were Brembos, they'd be advertised as such. I noticed that the Ecoboost HPP handling package says "premium brakes", but doesn't list Brembo. Maybe that's the Brembo logo you're seeing.

Thanks. Ok that makes sense. It's just weird that the Brembo logo was there.

Really? I didn't know that. I've only got the 4 pots on mine. I'd rather put a better caliper on the rear than worry about putting more on the front.

it's probably build-date dependent. A car built October '21 has them.

Maybe the HP gets Brembo. Would be nice if 22 HPP gets alloy calipers or Brembo because mine is being built in 9 days or so.

The Bremo part is a licensing deal for Brembo brand otherwise it's likely Brembo makes the calipers since they do have a huge OEM generic supply business.

Can always get decals for $40 haha.
Since you ordered a 22’ I would think you would know what brakes it comes with it. As I noted in an earlier post the 22’s get the Brembo’s.

I ordered / contracted a '21 end of Sept and it was converted to MY 22nin Oct. I'm expecting cast GT calipers...Brembo branded ones would be welcome though.
If it’s a HP it will get Brembos, non HP get the 4 pots, 2020 HPs like mine have the 4 pots but with a more aggressive pad.
