I was informed about this new crate engine by my local Ford Performance centre.
I was actually quite suprised at the price, $6500. Thats around the same price ive paid for all my upgrades so far, and my car still has a stock block so that kinda stung lol.
It looks pretty neat and the block is strengthened using inserts in the cooling chambers and a stronger head gasket plus studs.
I guess that should be okay for around 500HP~600HP, though inserts dont really help against holes in the walls of the blocks or cracking at the top of the cylinder sleeves. Maybe its a new block casting though...who knows theres no detailed info on it yet.
They say its mean for motorsport use, but it has a 9.5:1 compression ratio so i suspect it runs on pump gas just fine.
Its an interesting product for sure. If it was available at the time i ordered my car i would have definately chose it over a Roush Eco with its various bolt ons.
