when i had my 2014 Mustang GT i was doing Bama Tunes with 91Oct Performance tune. Most of the s197 owners would suggest doing 91 oct or 93 oct to bring out the full potential of the coyote 5.0. Now that i have a 16 GT PP with Steeda Tune I'm reading a lot of forums discussing e85 or e87 tunes. is this for the V8's or is these for the ecoboost and V6. would the lower octane bring out the full potential of the engine as the 91 and above octane? shall i ask steeda to give me an e87 tune? what are the effects of using a lower octane on the v8?

E85 is not "85" octane. It's more around 102-105 octane. The term E85 is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline blend.

cool, now i get it. is this the same ethanol 85 from the gas pumps then you need to add the 15% gasoline or this is special order type of gas?

No no no. E85 is blended for you already at the gas pump.. I would highly recommend the flex fuel tune from Lund paired with the Ngauge.

Others offer an E85 tune. The Lund tune is convenient because it will work with E85 or a high octane gasoline tune. (91-93 octane) You can switch back and forth and it wont hurt anything. Think of it as a sort of race gas tune when running E85 and still have the 93 tune for daily driving if E85 stations aren't close to you.

Owners seem to be happy with their E85 tune. Nothing crazy, but you will get more power. I'll post back once I get my tune revision back. Running 93 Livernois tune currently.

Being S/Cd what HP/TQ can we expect from an E85 tune. I understand that mods will vary on every car. Ballpark #s??

very important question. I'm from denver colorado and where do you usually get the ethanol 85 or 87. is it easily available from the local pumps. i know that they have the 85 and 87 octane only highest is the 91 octane.

Our Flex Fuel tune works the exact same way. There is no need for measuring or tune swapping. Just load, have fun, refill and repeat! :headbang:
