I believe from looking at numbers etc etc, that a Maha corrects closest to official (corrected) quoted engine power. So probably look for one of those.

Seen a chap untuned post that he was making like 440... which was very very off.

When Gibbo205 is back he can pass his knowledge on it.

I'm gonna take mine to Birmingham to see Alan at Pumabuild (Race Red Whipped GT with 'BASTARD' reg plate), to get pre IC numbers, and then run it again once IC is on and dialed in by Tune+ (As he has a Maha)

How much should a dyno cost ?
£30-50 region, depends on if you're going alone, how many runs you get, group buy into it, any other work being done by them and can discount it etc.

I tried 4 x different Manufacture Dynos on my FI mustang.Dynojet @ £85/Sport Devices @ £85 /Maha @ £50-£60 /TAT @£75-ish?
The ones that disappointed the most are the ones I definitely trust the most ,and therefore the two I recommend are Maha and TAT( TAT is the one used by GT101).
Dynojet are known for generosity sometimes extreme ,although operator inputs intended to flatter are often the cause.

As Twold said basically, stick with maha as they can be trusted, just never tell the operator what horsepower your expecting as any dyno can be manipulated.

It is also why we like Ti Motorsport, they don't give a shit what power you think you should have, the result is the result which on the last dyno day we did had many heart broken and complaining the dyno was out, whereas the stock Mustang which ran, that did three runs made 407HP, 410HP and 415HP, very consistent and bang on the numbers.

All that is very important on a maha is you run in the gear closest 1:1 (5th on a manual Mustang) in which case it will give very accurate crank figures as it measures crank from coast down, no fixed percentages plucked out the air by happy dyno operators as a fixed transmission loss percentages does not exist, that is BS. Also before any dyno run make sure your car is NEARLY upto temp, by the time it runs it will be upto temp, if the car gets hot then the ECU will pull timing and you won't make correct power. Of course the dyno can compensate for ambient/pressure etc. but the dyno has no idea what your ECU is doing and if the car has gone into catalyst protection mode due to being hot it won't make power.

On a wheel dyno, simply changing your tyre pressure or tyre type will impact its results, then the operator can decide your trans losses are 20% and hey presto you have a stock UK Mustang at 440HP, which is not possible due to the stock tune have limiters in place to limit peak power to around 415HP. :)
