Dyno custom tune

Help me wrap my brain around how this works...

So the place that has the dyno would sell the CAI ($349) and a SCT X4 ($399) and then dyno tune for ($350)=1098

Or...I could go with N-Gauge and CAI from one of the forum vendors for around 850-900 bucks.


1) Is the price difference worth it for the dyno tune?
2)Would not getting the N-gauge play into your decision
3)Or would you just start with the lund tune and fork over an extra 350 later to get a custom tune?

Dyno tunes where more necessary back when wideband oxygen sensors had to be installed. Usually, this was a tailpipe sniffer. Can't drive like that. Could if one was hard installed into exhaust.

Now, your car has wideband 02s and it can be logged. Someone like Lund can read that log after you drive it and do a wide open pull and make changes then email you the new tune. This is called remote tuning. For all intents and purposes, on 99% of cars, this works just as good as Dyno tuning and some say better because the conditions are real world.

One vital piece of information is who is the shop doing the custom tuning? This goes for everyone considering a dyno tune over a remote tune from a reputable vendor. These guys doing remote tuning have hundreds if not thousands of customers, mostly happy AFAIK, to add to their experience. Some dyno shops can claim the same for modern cars but not all.

The place i was looking at specializes in mustangs but that is a good point also

im getting a cmr diablosport tune because thats what the best mustang tuner in my area uses. i got my i1000 for $310 at maryland speed and paying him $400 for cmr tune. ill let you all no my numbers after longtubes and tune. also have k&n filter and airraid mit. base with auto and 3.15 gears.

Oh awesome, so now I can stop giving Mike Murillo all my money. I like your deals you have and am leaning towards giving you my business. In the meantime can you tell me where the pcm code is on the 15. Is that pic under the hood somewhere ? thanks for the help.
