dumb question about sport mode

I have an ecoboost with automatic transmission, can I shift to "sport"mode and back while the car is being driven in regular "drive" mode?

Did some research, it appears that one can indeed shift in and out of sport mode while on the fly.

It says it in your owners manual.

I shift it to S every time I merge on the highway and then once I get up to speed I put it back into D for fuel economy lol
