Today I finally picked up my car from Fortis Auto Design's workshop in Hayes, the lights are perfect, i've spend 2.5 hours driving home, there's many epic individual things they do that I never expected, and every minute going home, parking up at the services, etc, I used as an excuse to look at them.
I arrived at about 4PM, as they were finishing the lights, they were done by about 5PM, after a little fiddling with an issue (Diode Dynamics cocked up with the sequential driver, the passenger headlight was indicating 1,3,2, not 1,2,3. Fortis' electrician was on hand and identified the issue (wiring from DD was the wrong way around), The electrician fixed the issue almost immediately!)
Honestly couldn't recommend these guys work enough, it took 3 days, it was worth the money paid (In fact, probably way way more for what was required) and the expertise on hand to fix the issue (from diode)was a welcomed addition, and showed the knowledge that was on hand!
I ended up leaving at around 8pm after taking many pictures, as a very happy customer, so, seriously, if you want the lights doing, I couldn't honestly give a higher praise to them. The reseal of the lights is stellar, the updates were phenomenal, and, they look insane
!
Common Questions:
Cost: ÂŁ450 All in for the White DRLs and Sequential Indicators - Somewhere int he 500s for a RGBW
Fit: perfect, the electrical tape around it is hardly noticeable (Will post a pic up tomorrow), and can't tell they've been opened, there's a sequencing box behind the lights now.
Time: 3 days was fine for me to wait - however they're looking at doing a swap which will take around 6-7hours (can jusr pop into London City whilst you wait!) and swpa over your lights with a prefitted DD Light set)
Wait time: Their waiting list is around 2 + months so it's worth getting your name in already
Team that completed: Fortis Auto Design
Rear Sequentials: The team can, and have done this on a 'test' set of lights, with Diode boards, however Diode take far too long, and frankly their customer service is pretty rubbish (I've seen it first hand), so they're working with a new supplier to supply the boards and get this working, I'll have this on my car with a switchback when they're ready - so look out for the post on that
!
I mentioned earlier they do 'extra' things I didn't expect. When you lock the car, and Unlock it, they sequence with the indicator flash, it's quite cool
! with headlights on they're a little more dimmed, without, they're super bright, I can switch my 'stock DRLs' back on by rotating the light mode all the way to the left, so there's a way to 'turn it off' per-say.
Anyway, enough of my shit, here's the video!
Note: my Sidelights i've now realised are 'Cool White' not 'Pure white' I've got a diode dynamic set in my glove box which i'll fit tomorrow and post pictures of...
Clip 1 is the Sequentials running, Clip 2 is With headlights on, and Clip 3 is no headlights on.
