Today I finally picked up my car from Fortis Auto Design's workshop in Hayes, the lights are perfect, i've spend 2.5 hours driving home, there's many epic individual things they do that I never expected, and every minute going home, parking up at the services, etc, I used as an excuse to look at them.

I arrived at about 4PM, as they were finishing the lights, they were done by about 5PM, after a little fiddling with an issue (Diode Dynamics cocked up with the sequential driver, the passenger headlight was indicating 1,3,2, not 1,2,3. Fortis' electrician was on hand and identified the issue (wiring from DD was the wrong way around), The electrician fixed the issue almost immediately!)

Honestly couldn't recommend these guys work enough, it took 3 days, it was worth the money paid (In fact, probably way way more for what was required) and the expertise on hand to fix the issue (from diode)was a welcomed addition, and showed the knowledge that was on hand!

I ended up leaving at around 8pm after taking many pictures, as a very happy customer, so, seriously, if you want the lights doing, I couldn't honestly give a higher praise to them. The reseal of the lights is stellar, the updates were phenomenal, and, they look insane :D!

Common Questions:

Cost: ÂŁ450 All in for the White DRLs and Sequential Indicators - Somewhere int he 500s for a RGBW
Fit: perfect, the electrical tape around it is hardly noticeable (Will post a pic up tomorrow), and can't tell they've been opened, there's a sequencing box behind the lights now.
Time: 3 days was fine for me to wait - however they're looking at doing a swap which will take around 6-7hours (can jusr pop into London City whilst you wait!) and swpa over your lights with a prefitted DD Light set)
Wait time: Their waiting list is around 2 + months so it's worth getting your name in already :)
Team that completed: Fortis Auto Design
Rear Sequentials: The team can, and have done this on a 'test' set of lights, with Diode boards, however Diode take far too long, and frankly their customer service is pretty rubbish (I've seen it first hand), so they're working with a new supplier to supply the boards and get this working, I'll have this on my car with a switchback when they're ready - so look out for the post on that :)!

I mentioned earlier they do 'extra' things I didn't expect. When you lock the car, and Unlock it, they sequence with the indicator flash, it's quite cool :D! with headlights on they're a little more dimmed, without, they're super bright, I can switch my 'stock DRLs' back on by rotating the light mode all the way to the left, so there's a way to 'turn it off' per-say.

Anyway, enough of my shit, here's the video!

Note: my Sidelights i've now realised are 'Cool White' not 'Pure white' I've got a diode dynamic set in my glove box which i'll fit tomorrow and post pictures of...:)

Clip 1 is the Sequentials running, Clip 2 is With headlights on, and Clip 3 is no headlights on.

I'll upload more pictures to this thread tomorrow, and possibly another video :)

I feel you, It was hard being without mine for 3 days, but dropped off saturday, picked up today and i'm on Holiday from work so not an issue :). When they get it down to the 'trade' to swap them, i'll let you know (Shouldnt be too hard), but they'll need to make sure the headlights are good condition, but then they'll just need to swap out yours with a preset pair.

Most of the time (infact, about 2 days) is down to splitting the lights, fitting the lights, setting the light boards in, and then reputting it back together !
Without that, it'd just be a case of 2hrs taking bumper off, 1hr fitting, 1hr with lights, 2hrs fitting the bumper back on, and then 1hr testing :).

I'm Birmingham, but it's worth the travel to me (Trains cost me no more than ÂŁ20 return!)

Bit of a pig to install yourself from what I saw with the electrics, but yeah, I feel you, i drove 2.5hours, train was ÂŁ20 as Super Off-peaks, and 16-25 Travel card ;)! Just took whatever cheap trains i could find, bit of a pain, but worth it for me.

Hopefully they can find an approved installer in the Midlands, otherwise i'll have to open 'Manders Mustang Emporium'

Hey, great to see the install completed!

I'm a little confused by the "rear sequentials" comment. We have never provided any rear sequential LEDs of any kind, prototype or production, for the rear lamps.

While we have been pretty backed up on delivery of the DRL boards, we do strive to provide the best service possible. Today we were working back and forth immediately with the installer here, to provide a solution to the "1-3-2" issue - Nick, our sales manager, immediately called me after talking to the installer through his personal facebook messages so we could get a quick solution to you... so I'm not sure what your experience was, but I'm sorry to hear that this is your overall impression of our service.

Enjoy the DRLs!

Thanks,
Paul

Nice one, hope all is ok in 3-4 months, might consider it, still waiting on Diode Dynamics to 'sort' me out on the side markers, hopefully these will last the test of time

My sisters both live in London so might make a holiday of it :)

Very nice; a real shame that this just isn't standard - a huge amount of work, time and money to "return" the car to how it was meant to be. Madness.

In any case, when it's a day job, I'll do it. I'm an hour/hour and half from there anyway so I can do that in one go; but 3 days is too much faff for me!

Have you checked the DRL regs with an MOT tester?

I mention it because the rumour was that we don't get them over here due to white light being emitted to the side and you mentioned about not having the option to turn them off and resort to the stock DRLs.

That might come as a nasty surprise at MOT time. :(

Look damn good although I'm slightly disappointed at the lack of melted headlights. :D
