I have a Dynotech driveshaft on my 2015 manual GT and the original MGW shifter. Today when I was under the car I noticed the sound mat that sticks to the shifter looks like it was bunch up in the area my driveshaft has a weight attached to it. Has anyone experienced their driveshaft hitting their shifter? Is that even possible since the shifter is mounted to the trans? I’ve been having some random knocking issues and don’t know if this could be related. Thanks

Check the area of the e-brake cable assembly too. It’s on the driver side, near the DS tucked up a little into the trans tunnel. If the e-brake cables are loose they will come in contact with the DS and make a rattle or knock noise (often heard from inside the car under the shifter or center console area).

There is a DIY thread on here somewhere for the e-brake adjustment, because it’s a S550 common issue.
