Hi All,

This is my first manual transmission and I've pretty much gotten the hang of it after 1500 miles, but I have a question. If I shift quickly into 4th I always feel like I am hitting a "gate" for a split second and then it glides past it into fourth. Almost like the gate didn't open fast enough? If I shift slowly it's totally smooth. It's done this since new. Does this happen to anyone else? Is it normal? Should I have it looked at?

that is the notchy-ness everyone talks about, should get better as the car warms up and breaks in

I had some gear nibble/grind that has almost completely gone away at 2.7K miles. Interesting how these transmissions break in...

Second gear is my most fussy gear. The transmission is best once its fully warmed up but shifting seems to work better with a slight pause before dropping into gear. Almost like its spinning something up. Maybe a sync?
