Has anyone got creaking sounds coming from the driver’s window and top area? My passenger side makes no noises going over bumps or rough roads. The car has 1700 miles. 2019 PP1 convertible.

Thanks.

I haven't noticed it on mine. I get a little suspension chatter because I have changed out a lot of bushings and joints. Nothing major, but didn't have any noises before I did that. I can't think of anything at the top of the window that should creak, unless it is something in the roof mechanism. I would take it to the dealership and them check it out.

Now, I did have a problem with trim. The piece of plastic interior trim dead center above the passenger window was out of alignment. It didn't sit flush with the trim on either end of it, but protruded down towards the floor. Apparently when it was assembled, the factory over-tightened a nut that cracked something in a piece beneath the trim that caused it not to move into the correct position when the top is closed. The dealership had to order a couple of parts, but swapped it out in an hour or so and corrected the problem. Maybe it could be something like that? If you have a similar problem, I suppose it could creak or rattle.

Time for a trip to your dealer. Not sure when Ford went to the single "subway strap" handle for the top lock/release feature, but it's not a all clear how to adjust one or the other side's top header latches. The old fashioned individual locks were easy to adjust. Most times the kind of squeak you have could be fixed by tightening the latch on the squeaky side.

I’ve been to the dealer twice. The first time it was about the driver’s door not being flush at the top right as you look at it from outside the car head on. They took it to a body shop and adjusted the hinges. I thought that would correct the irritating squeaks and creaking sounds at the window. It did not fix it.

I called them and they said to contact another dealer 30 miles away that had their own body shop I case it needed more body work. I called and the service manager said that a new window regulator usually fixes window problems and that my local dealer could perform that. So I called my local dealer and they took my car for a few days and said they would order and install the regulator. 3 days later they said they couldn’t replace a working regulator with a new one. Mine pops a little when coming down. Also, my driver’s window is not inward enough to be flush with the back small window. The passenger side is perfect.

I brought the car home and have cleaned the convertible Channels and put silicone spray in them. It helped a little. I have done it again this week and I still hear the moans and groans. I called corporate Ford and they said to call my local service manager.

I paid a lot for this car and I’m a little disappointed. I love everything else about the car. I am sensitive to noises. My ENT said I have the best hearing in 3 counties. LOL. I believe I’m hearing more wind noise in the driver’s window. Don’t know if it is the silicone spray or something from the dealership’s attempt to look at the regulator.

Mine has done it, It was the upper window seal was dry. Just the window glass squeaking inside the seam. A little silicon spray, wd40 silicon spray, on a paper towel or q-tip to clean and lube the seal worked for me.
