I have a set of WedsSport wheels on their way to my door. I've wanted some since I had my Infiniti, so color me excited. The great news is I'm running a square setup and I'll only have to put a pair of spacers on the front axle. The bad news is, presumably because they're a Japanese brand, the stud holes are too small. I contacted @NightParade (not active here any longer) and he drilled the stud holes out to fit over our big boy studs using a 9/16" bit.

I assume there are 12mm studs on the market for S550s, but I've not looked into it closely yet.

Here's really what my dilemma is - I run PP1 wheels for my winters. Swapping to 12mm studs would force me to buy new wheels and I don't really want to spend that money. BUT drilling out the stud holes makes me less able to swap the Weds to another vehicle.

Please vote and/or comment, thanks!

it's 12 vs 14mm. You can put S197 studs on your S550 without undue drama. Yes you can bolt your PP1 rims to 12mm or 1/2" studs.

Any other vehicle you want to use these new wheels on would have to match the 114.3 bolt-circle. Sure Nissans use that but it's not that common. Many, many vehicles have moved to 14mm studs so unless you're buying some kind of antique, 14mm is what all future vehicles will be using.

If you can't accurately drill your 'new' wheels, take them to a proper machinist and have him do the work on a big-ass drill press or mill.
