At my track, I'm not sure what speed required helmets, but I know that a guy in a vert Camaro had to have one.

I live in Quebec and I've been to 5-6 different tracks and NO helmets are required, no matter how fast your car is.

Interesting, here at our track in Alberta they won't let you through tech at street legals without a helmet.

Growing up in the SF Bay area, this topic brings up fond memories of Fremont drag strip. It was pretty close, but I did not go very much. I have very fun memories of taking my '76 Kawasaki 900 out there a few times (back when it was king ;o). That closed in 1988 and now the closest is Sonoma (North Bay) which is 1 1/2 hours away so doubt I'll ever make that trek for the casual interest I might have now.

I'm old. It seems weird every time I hear a drag strip referred to as a track. I think of a track as a race track with turns. You know, where the start and finish lines... are at the same place. ;) Like I said I'm old and don't follow racing. :headbonk:

Thanks for bringing back fond memories (which this car actually does too, now that I think about it).

Anyone here been to the track and run the 1/4 mile yet?? Crazy I still haven't seen one track time for the V6 beside Joe's 1/8 run

Haven't been to the track. I've done several 1/4 mile runs on track apps but haven't been able to get a good launch so my times aren't so good. And yes there are only a few of us on here that even care about performance. Most v6 owners here are more concerned about exhaust drone then 0-60 times etc.

Guilty as charged. ;)
The 0-60 times are just fun numbers to me. Drone is annoying.

I think most of us would like 'our Mustang' be in the just a tad faster range. But like you, I'm finding even getting respectable, let alone bragging numbers is eluding me for now. There must be more of a learning curve than there appears. And I have an automatic. That slow shift from 1st to 2nd would be a pisser if I had the manual. :headbonk:

Here's mine. 14.46 @ 98mph. 91 octane, heavy 20 inch wheels with street tires, 3.55 gears, 73 degrees.

Very disappointed, car is for sale.

There is, be patient. Learn. Should be able to do sub 14.00 sec times.
