From what I could gather in the past few months, most users (including muself) have been getting faster times in "D" than in "S" on the stock tires. I'll link those threads when i get home.
Wow, very interesting! Looking forward to those links, thank you.

I envy you automatic guys for ease of launching. That's the one and only thing irritating about having a manual. You're one bad launch from losing a race you'd otherwise win. Automatic... easy-peasey.

Mostly everyone in the comments recommended that "D" is better than "S" on stock tires. Post #37 is also very interesting in that thread. Again, I can't say that "D" is 100% better than "s" at the track. But I, along with some others members, have experienced the "Drive" to be better on the drag strip (on stock tires). I'll keep linking more if i find them. :ford:

That's what I figured, didn't think there was anything closer. I went there a few times when I had my LS1 TA but haven't gone yet with the mustang.

Thanks.

Well using your guys advice I was able to run a 13.48 at 109mph. Not the best but I'm very happy seeing as it was my first time ever drag racing.

Hmm now to buy a whipple....:clap2:

Do a DA calculation. That time may not be as bad as you think for this time of year.

Use line lock?
You're right, I was confused- was still thinking about doing a quick burnout to clean off the tires, which may not even be necessary with the crappy A/S Pirellis.

I read that entire thread with great interest-- thanks so much for posting it. Maybe S should stand for "Slow" instead of "Sport" :D. I can't wait to get this one to the track and start experimenting myself-- so freaking hot right now though.

Damn right it's too hot. It's been ~100 degrees (or over) everyday where I live. I can't wait for some negative DA this fall! :headbang:
