I have a 17 w ford tune, I am perfectly happy with my tune. I just want moarrr loud.

I am stock downpipe at the moment. If I bought a 3.0 high flow cat (cpe) could I use o2 spacer to keep car running as it should?

I know a tune would make run best but I just don’t want car running worst

Would oem downpipe be same loudness as Cpe high flow cat pipe? I kind of think I’d go high flow over catless because I read about idling smoke etc and smell.

All I want in the end is my ford perf tune to be happy, and if I can toss a Cpe downpipe with o2 spacer get no cel’s and not run any weaker I’d be happy.

Opinions? How much sound increase would there be from oem to 3.0 high flow cat

- also I have stock 2.25 piping for exhaust, but I have res delete and axle back. So would a 3.0 downpipe provide no benefit since it would turn into 2.25 anyway?

I have a 2 1/2" MagnaFlow exhast so different than yours. I am still not tuned but after removing the OEM downpipe and having the 3" CVF (200 cell CAT) the was a marked change in exhaust was significant, much grater flow and noticeably louder but not farty and no drone. The most noticable change was how quickly the turbo spools up and goes to 20 PSI of boost.......Now for that tune......

Any negative issues? Loss of low end torque or smoking on idle?

Hey OP I have an extra catless downpipe I'd sell you for 100 + shipping if interested. I will include the defouler I used which prevented me from getting a CEL.

Going catless is the biggest thing you can do for FI car as far as stock exhaust, outside of going bigger exhaust on ANY FI car.

But smell. It’s a daily and I’m not trying to get power heck I’m hoping my tune still functions the same, with a downpipe and a o2 spacer

If it runs like junk, probably break down and get a Cobb tuner and use Ryan.

But hoping for just good results

I just want some more sound, not all of the sound.

Will a Cpe or cvfab 200 cell cat with my y pipe and axle back

Be indeed louder than my current system with stock downpipe? That’s all I want is some more round

But not just a hair more, quite a bit more

One downfall I am concerned about is smoking on idle, I have a ford performance catch can, hoping I don’t have any smoke with a catted downpipe.

I have to admit I had a speed shop do the install but they did have a little fiddling to do to mate the 3" downpipe to the 2.5" exhaust. I used a 90' fitting for the O2 sensor OBDLink shows no CEL.

I went ahead and ordered the cvfab catted Downpipe, hopefully itl play well enough with my FP tune, id rather not have to change it. I am 90% positive it should be fine I reckon, better off than going full catless

Just an fyi, when I installed my MBRP catted downpipe, I did some datalogs and Sent them to Tune+.
It requires 2 rounds of tune revisions to get it right..

and get that O2 spacer to pass emissions inspection.

ohio doesn't have any inspections. we are a epa freeeee state. I am thinking about actually saving up, buying a Cobb tuner, catted Downpipe and Ryan tune all at once. I am basically full bolt on, only thing I dont want to do, are those super frequent spark plug changes.

Spark plugs are a 5k mile check at minimum. No need to change, but possible regap.

Those gaps open up fast. Mine went from .026 to .030 in 6k miles.

Keeps you on your toes for maintenence.
