had door latches replaced. No issues. Was in for something else so figured I'd get it done. Now this weekend I noticed the auto open and lock on handle isn't working passenger side. Not sure if related or not.

Just got my notice that the parts are in to fix the latch, I'm thinking on not getting it done. Might wait till it breaks as sounds like a lot of problem after the fix. thoughts?

Just wait until you have the issue honestly. I brought it to ford Costa Mesa. Now my interior door handles does creek and squeak on opening, I have wind noise in the free way from the window seal and I pulled out the door trim when rolling up my windows since the techs didn't put the clips back in on both sides. Nope should have just left it alone

I don't think I'm going to get mine done, unless the latches start having problems. I don't slam my doors like a maniac which supposedly causes the latch to fail.

Thanks for the reply, I'm sure there are some who never had a problem but I am not taking that chance ( learn from others)

That kinda what i'm thinking also, I don't really trust anyone taking my doors apart unless I have to.

Got my second recall notice...

But the new letter has changed the notice. It now says that the latch replacement will take ONE working day...not the vague time line mentioned in the first letter. I called my dealer...they will NOT authorize a loaner!

My dealer still has not done even one latch recall yet.
I probably will wait until a latch problem appears...by that time my dealer will probably have done multiple recalls, and have figured out how to do it correctly.

Had mine done while the car was at the dealer for battery issues, now I have wind noise at 60+ on the driver's side. Of course.

Someone needs to post up the Ford TSB for the recall; that will have the exact R&R instructions with replacement part numbers.

Anyone who has it or access to it should share it.
WARNING!!! Don't do the latch recall unless they fail - and DEFINITELY not the driver's side. My driver's window's been whistling and not sealing properly for 6 months and 6-7 attempts by the dealer to fix it. In normal 25-35 mph street driving there's now as much road noise as there would be if you had the window cracked open a hair.
I had to stop my dealer in Souderton from trying to fix it by playing with the door alignment (potentially screwing up the body panel alignment), so yes, I wish I had never allowed them to touch it... It wasn't broken until they got their hands on it, now it's fubar.

Just bought my 2015 Convertible 2 weeks ago, and had the latch recall performed while it was in for an oil change. No issues.

Need tested dealer for latch recall

:frusty:Has anyone within 50-60 miles of Philadelphia had their latch recall done and NOT had wind noise? I need to find a new dealer to fix the window noise from my botched recall.

Someone who's done it correctly already seems like the logical starting point.

I went ahead and adjusted the bar where the latch secures and it did diminish the wind noise. There are a few milimiters of movement once loosened so you can adust in and get the door to close tighter. The dealership wanted to make an appointment at a body shop to have the door adjusted so I did it myself.

Mine actually got looser as time went on after the last time they adjusted it. It moved away from the rear (vertical) window seal about 3/32 of an inch over the course of 2 - 3 weeks.

The dealership said the door latch replacement should not change the door position since the door latch isn't adjustable. Since the window needs.to be removed it is possible something wasn't put back correctly. My doors were not set right from the factory so I can verify the doors position didn't change much from what I remember. I asked the dealership to pull the door in tighter to seal better and they didn't want to mess with it. There may be something different going on in your case if the window is changing position.
