Picked up my white GTPP on Saturday, plasti dipped the emblems on Sunday, and installed a SW catback on Tuesday. Excited to cruise around with my toddler I went to put in the car seat and heard something when I opened the passenger door. The two "edged lines" that run down the side seem to barely rub when the door is being opened or closed. This was only about the third time I opened the passenger door. After looking a little close, there is a little bit o paint being rubber off at the two points where the door is rubbing the front quarter panel. Scheduled an appointment for Monday to have it looked at.

Also, my center console does not latch as easily as it should. Seems to be slightly misaligned.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Besides these things, I love this car!

I sat in a black GT Premium the other day and it had an issue with the Center Console lid closing. There are 2 Release latches, one on each side and the latch on the drivers side wasn't returning to it's normal position. I had to manually move it to get the lid to close.

^ Same here. Sometimes I have to manually push the release lever down before closing. I haven't looked closely enough to see if I can adjust it yet.

How did the car seat fit? Would it fit ok behind a comfortablely seated adult?

Car seat pretty damn well. With the seat back in a normal position and the seat all the way forward, there still appeared to be enough leg room. Probably about 2 or 3 inches to slide back before the kid would have to bring his legs up.

surprisingly my center console is closing better the more I use it. The lever doesn't stick in the open position as much.

This thread sounds like a job for the "it's just a 40K Ford" apologists to regale us with stories about how their Bentleys and Rolls have misaligned doors with paint scraping off so you better stop complaining!

Glad you're taking it into the dealer ASAP. Some of these fit and finish issues are going to be difficult to prove a manufacturing issue the longer anyone waits. If something just flat breaks it's easy, this other stuff I'm more concerned that I won't see anything until a few months later then get the "normal wear and tear"excuse.
...you don't cut any flak

If it's not too much trouble, when you get a chance can you take pic illustrating the seat position with the car seat installed and the seat all the way back as far as possible where the baby has room still. Trying to see if with a baby in a car seat behind the passenger seat, if my wife will fit in the passenger seat fairly comfortable. She s 5'10". Ultimately I want to see if two adults can fit in the front and a baby in a car seat in the back. Happy thanksgiving!

Apparently, they will be taking photos of the alignment and shoot them to Ford (HQ?) immediately. Ford will tell them what additional angles they want to see. I am curious if they are even going to make any adjustments. I am also curious if they will try to claim that it occurred during the catback installation.

I will definitely let them know that the center console is a pretty widespread issue. Although playing with it last night it seemed to be latching better.

I went through the same procedure with my misaligned rocker panel. They took pictures, sent them to Ford, and got I got the word this week to bring it in for repair. They're going to re-align it, and if for some the reason the rocker panel itself was out of spec, they'll replace it.

I agree I have an infant and toddler car seat in mine and they fit great! I got some memory foam seat cushions from Walmart ($25 each) to help protect the seats. The grand kids Love Papa's car.
