Hi,

I was about to wash my Mustang and noticed some leave and crud collecting in the bottom of the driver’s side fender when I opened the door. Then I looked on the passenger side and there weren’t any leaves and also noticed that the fender insulator was positioned further towards the rear of the fender, and closer to what I assume is a drain hole.

Which is the correct position? I’m not sure if leaves are collecting on the passenger side but I just can’t see them because they are falling in front of the insulator.

Very hard to tell from your pics BUT, if looking into the front wheel wells towards the doors - the insulators should not be pushed inward towards the A-pillar or door. The insulators are just to cap off and seal that gap/.opening. If the insulator is pressed or pushed forward, just tug it back towards the front of the car.

If they are deformed from being pushed in for a prolonged period of time, easiest to do is buy new, because usually they won't come back to shape easily and may just falter again.

Thanks for the response Cobra Jet. I will take some pics during the day. I opened the door and was looking where the door hinges are.
