Hey guys, new to the forums, and new to the Mustang world. Hell, I'm new to the american muscle world period.

I'm picking up my '16 GT PP next Saturday. Anyways, after break-in, I plan on changing engine, trans, and diff fluid. So my question is, does no-one use Redline in the Mustang world?

I come from the import world, and the top choice is always Redline or Amsoil. I did a quick search on here and couldn't find a single mention of Redline. RP seems to be the preferred choice. Which I've always heard was junk.

So would I be safe running Redline? Or is there something terribly wrong with it for the Mustang that I don't know about? Thanks in advance!

I've always been a fan of Motul. That is pretty much the gold standard from what I have ever seen.

(also an import guy)

I tried Redline once in a 8.8" in my F150. Never had any problems out of it, just came due for a fluid swap. I bought Redline and filled it up, within 500 miles the pinion seal was POURING. I couldn't have made a bigger mess under my truck with a sprayer filled full of the stuff. I drained it and put bulk gear oil with Motorcraft Friction Modifier back in it. Leak stopped and never had problems for 90,000 more miles. I have not purchased any Redline since.

Amsoil has always been my go to fluid choice.
I've heard nothing but good about Amsoil. But does Amsoil make a diff fluid that meets the specs? The manual calls for 75w85 but I don't see that on Amsoils website

That's weird. I've used Redline in my last 4 cars and have never had an issue.

I have used Redline in all of my vehicles over the past 7 years and will continue to use it with my Mustang when it's time for new fluids. All of my vehicles have ran great with Redline.

We use Redline in our 2013 GT500 cuz it's the only brand other than Motorcraft that makes 5W50. 23,000 miles with no problems.
