Does anyone know how the process for pulling allocations works? I've talked with Ford Corporate, Ford Performance, several sales managers, and dealer owners. The only answer was from my sales manager who says it's a lottery system. Possible, but not probable. Ordered my black track pack 10/12/15, Dora on 10/14/15, VOC 11/15. My dealership owner who placed the order was told by (Ford) "not to expect the car until spring or maybe even summer." The owner and sales manager have talked with the Zone Manager, no answers from him. There must be a system that Ford follows for pulling allocations. If so, it must be "Top Secret" from what I am finding out. Anyone out there privy to the process?

I was told that larger volume dealers (with more allocations) get priority. Take that for what it is worth, but the order does seem to have a fair amount of randomness to it.

Is your car in "Unscheduled - Clean" status? If so, then the car will be automatically pulled by Ford's order processing system.

If your car is in "Unscheduled - Material Hold" stats, the Ford Regional Manager has to manually pull the order to send it to "Unscheduled - Clean". The car will never get pulled to be built until the Ford Regional Rep pulls it into Unscheduled - Clean.

Also, I believe high volume and president award winning dealers get priority, but I'm not entirely sure.

The last check with FP, it was Unscheduled-material hold. Your info about the zone manager having to manually pull the allocation is what I thought also, but the dealer owner & sales manager are not aware of that?, or simply they don't have the dealership status to make it happen. I've seen little dealers in "Frostbite Falls, USA" ordering their car in November and receiving them in Jan. Does a dealer stock unit take priority over a customer order? I'll have to motivate the sales manager. It's been nearly 5 months since ordering, and production of the 1916 Shelbys ends sometime in May from what I have heard. tic-toc....

The dealer is either misinformed or talking out of their ass. I personally talked to my Ford Regional Rep and had her look into my order. Literally the next day it went to Unscheduled - Clean.

It took me 3 months from order - delivery. 1 month from order - VIN.

The logic behind when/how reps pull cars off hold is a mystery. If they said Spring/Summer you probably have more waiting to do. Your car will be produced before June 1st, which is still Spring.

The last thing you should do is piss off your dealer or Ford rep with constant inquiries.

Production of the 2016's ends in 2-1/2 months, so time is running out. No, I wouldn't would not want to piss off my dealer, since even at sticker price he is only going to make $4500 profit on the car, not to mention the 8 new vehicles I have bought from him in the last few years.

If dealership A has a higher Mustang sales volume then dealership B then they get more allocations as well as quicker deliveries. I purchased mine from a large dealership specializing in Mustangs in mid Oct and the vehicle was delivered at the end of Dec. I have a friend who left a deposit a few weeks earlier than me at small dealership specializing in commercial truck sales and he's still waiting for his to be built.

Fascinating that my R order also went clean on that date.

OP: Each allocation is supposed to be allocated to a production quarter. If yours is a Q2 allocation, then it will be produced late in the cycle (prior to cutoff for MY17). Ask your dealer/sales guy about that.

My order, for example, placed on Aug 5 is a Q1 allocation. It is currently Unscheduled Clean status, awaiting a production date assignment. And the waiting continues.......:(

I ordered from a small dealer who has 1 allocation. I believe they are a "select" dealer. Are you a dealer? I ask because I have asked my dealer to do just that and they said they can't as they are at the mercy of when the regional rep and when he/she pulls their order. They have no control over it and no amount of begging will help. It's been 8 months since order for me.

My dealer is a 1 allocation dealer also, but a fairly large dealer. Your dealer and my dealer must have read the same book. The answer I got is almost word for word with what your dealer told you. Good luck with your order. I have accepted the fact the car I ordered may not get built. I guess it's back to my 427 Galaxies & other 60's toys.

Yes, there are select dealers and contact dealers, with the contact dealers being the larger of the two. They get pulled at a 25 to 1 ratio from what I was told by a dealer owner on the other forum, which seems about right given the large discrepancy in wait times between order and delivery.

My dealer was also a select dealer, so im guessing the order those get pulled in involves a bit more palm greasing.
