Well, it doesn't look chrome in that shoot, but rather mate aluminum. Respectfully, Glossy black or brighty chrome may look ghetto either...much of it depends on the driver!

This feeds the theory that they are actually not black but more like gunmetal.

Still sucks, but at least it sucks a little less hard.

Ultimately American Muscle and many other vendors will have wheel solutions at a reasonable price, so the stock wheels are not a big deal in my eyes.
Additionaly Special Editions will be out soon with other interesting choices.

I don't like the GT PP wheels but I can live with them. What I really don't like is the staggered wheel and tire sizes. I understand the reason why, but I much prefer a practical DD setup where I can rotate the wheels to extend tread life.

The EcoBoost PP wheel package would be better for my needs.

Well it does, the low-gloss black aluminum wheels, but just for the GT PP.

The site pretty much confirmed it.

Black is for the GT.

It could be. It also could have been built with a lot of preliminary information. Maybe we all will be surprised soon.

I think this image confirms it (click for full size). They don't make this without it being final, at least IMO. Painted Aluminum. Doesn't say black. Then on Track Pack GT it says Black.
