To those who received a VIN really fast or car can you post what was your priority? What was the time frame from ordering to VIN assignation? Did you ordered a GT or ecoboost? Small or big dealership?

I ordered on September, priority 12, No VIN as of yet. Small dealership.

13 is pretty high. 10 is the lowest (best) the delaership can order at. Ford itself can give 01-09 status.

Small dealership is likely why, no allocation for cars. You may have to re-order from a nearby bigger dealership or wait a long time.

Be aware that any order that dealership places at a 10, 11, or 12 priority will schedule before yours. Your scheduling delay could be a lack of allocations for that dealership or the dealership taking and placing later orders with a better (10, 11, or 12) priority than yours.

In my case, the order was placed at priority 19 which is what this dealership does to all X-Plan orders. It gives them the ability to slip MSRP, ADM, and friends and family orders before existing X-Plan orders at any time. I wasn't scheduled until someone from Ford changed my priority to "01".

My EcoBoost Premium x-plan order was placed on 11/1 with a dealer priority of 11. I received a VIN on 11/11 and was given an order code of 01 from Ford (1101). The vehicle was built on 12/2 and was shipped on 12/4. My COTUS EDD is 12/21, but history from other 15 Mustangs ordered by my dealer will have it arriving on or around 12/16. My dealer is mid-sized and is also a Lincoln dealer.

How did you manage to get a 1? That's pretty special. Know someone at Ford or something?

Sounds like your dealer has no allocation. A little strange, even for a small dealership, to go so long with no allocation at all though.

If it's not that, your dealer is screwing you by putting other people ahead of you. With as long as you've been waiting, I'd insist on a priority 10. Also, being such a small dealership there's no reason you shouldn't be a 10 already. Sounds a little suspicious to me.

You don't have to have a PC (priority code) 10 to have your car scheduled first. You just have to have a lower number than all other Mustangs on order at your dealer. X-plan orders default to PC 19 in the order system, but a dealership can make it anything from 10-19. All retail orders go to PC 01 in the order banks automatically a few days before they schedule. However, the Ford regional office can force an order to PC 01 to speed up scheduling if they feel it's warranted (heater customer, for example).

Not all dealers have allocations for all models each month. Not all dealers opt to take allocations for each model each month during their wholesale meetings with their Ford reps. For example, I told Ford that I didn't want any Flex models most of the year. I didn't always want Super Duty trucks, either. However, I took as many Mustangs as they would give me, and then some, all year. Other dealers that don't do well selling Mustangs may turn them away more often than they take them. Hence, it's important to have a candid conversation with your dealer about whether they have enough allocation to cover your order.

I'm a priority 10 retail order from a small dealer that doesn't sell many Mustangs. I think I was the first person to order one, and I'm only aware of one other retail order placed at my dealership and the other one is for a fastback. Mine is scheduled to be built this week after placing my order on November 1st, but December seems to be the first month for convertible deliveries.

I have a copy of my DORA. It shows that I was entered as a priority 10, yet
I am seeing people who ordered after I did getting build dates WAY before
me. In fact I do not have an official build week/date yet, only a tentative
one of 1/26. So I really wonder just how much the priority code really
matters.

get VINs the same day and the get build week/day weeks before yours is discouraging.

Have a DORA of 10. I ordered on 12/10/14, and got my VIN today. (12/11/14). No build date yet. I ordered from a medium size dealer in Ga. What is the normal time frame for a build date to show up on COTUSE.FORD?
