If you're that worried about the longevity of a turbo motor don't mod the car. Good rule of thumb is a new tune for any mods. Otherwise, the mod isn't gaining you much if a tune is not required.

i listened to your video, it's the same exact thing in my video, compressor stall, as your probably at the point of no boost/no vacuum and you're hearing the compressor stall instead of the BPV venting, since it's not venting any boost. you're on the threshold of boost.

what i hear in your video is identical to what's in mine. double check your connections on the sensor that's right off the intake, the MAF. make sure it's tight and the connection is correct, because the car will be all wonky if it's not able to properly meter the air -- which shouldn't have changed at all, since the intake tube is the same diameter.

They say it doesnt require a tune! it is installed 100% correctly! If it doesnt require a tune this shouldnt happen.... there warranty department said a calibration for the car will take care of! and right on there product page on their website it says NO CALIBRATION REQUIRED!!

It doesn't require a tune. You have something else wrong. I would double and triple check your work if the car won't go into boost without a key cycle.

You should expect more noise with an intake. You should also expect to hear the Recirc valve working. If it is stock, make sure you didn't mess up a vacuum line in the area. There are very important lines where you were working, breaking one can wreak havoc.

If you have an aftermarket BOV, some flutter is expected and cannot be completely taken out with adjustment.

You really should ask more questions to people who know before spouting off about a credible vendor. IMO, none of these intakes truly require a tune as the stock flows so well that it's not much more than looks and sound.

flutter and compressor stall are two different things.

flutter is venting at heavy throttle so it's not pushing more boost than it's supposed to, and compressor stall is simply the BPV or aftermarket BOV not venting because of either computer calibration or settings on the BOV.

FWIW my ST has the stock BPV in my video. it's still 100% stock with regards to that stuff. you can with an aftermarket tune manipulate the BPV/BOC venting characteristics.

Mine has been modified from stock to lessen venting on the freeway, but the trade off is a little more compressor stall, so yeah calibration can totally manipulate that stuff if it bothers you. you can trade off compressor stall for more venting, but at those levels, it's not hurting a thing. Now if it's stalling from a high RPM then it's something that might affect turbo longevity.

I wonder why this happened to your Mustang. My friend is running the Roush CAI perfectly fine, no tune, no anything. He just installed it and he's on his way. I'm curious to find out why its fluttering. I know its bad and all, but that flutter noise is sex to my ears lol. I hope you find a solution soon! Best of luck.

Just to reiterate, the intake has NOTHING to do with the BOV. You can completely remove the Recirc. tube, cap it, and there is no relation between intake and BOV. You have jacked something else up.

Send the Roush intake my way. I won't mind tossing it on, no tune adjustment, and clicking off some good times for publicity for Roush.

I would go over every inch of the vacuum routing. I'd bet that it's just the factory valve and it's ugly, noisy, operation. It makes all kinds of noise as it opens all the time to maintain status quo.

It happens with every intake, it's not detrimental. You essentially just have a stock intake with a better filter and no lid...think about it.

You've got something going on with your bpv, the stock one is super sensitive with the throttle, it will go off at like 1 psi when you let off itll just be a really low psssh. You are getting compressor surge from the bpv not opening from the sound of it, it might have been doing this for awhile youre just hearing it now with the new intake on since it allows you to hear more that's going on. If you were getting flutter you would be happening while boosting and would go cha cha cha cha cha cha cha cha cha, really choppy wind sound, the hyena laugh when you let off the throttle is surge and you should absolutely not get any with the stock bpv, you get it with mechanically bov due to the spring force strong than the vacuum trying to open it.

put everything back to stock and take a video, then redo all the steps with the roush and do another video. that will tell you if its the CAI or not, unless you installed it incorrectly the first and second time

Exactly, at low boost my TS BOV will chatter. I tend to be more easy on letting off part throttle. I don't remember if my stock one chattered, sounds like it's not venting right.

I'd like to see the area by the BPV and the vacuum solenoid. Did you disconnect the BPV electrical connection and forget to re-connect it?

I've reinstalled the stock intake for a few weeks and it was good and the car never lost boost, put the roush intake on again and the next day same issue. some guy posted about this issue in the repair and issues thread.
