Hi All

so I've collected my 2019 stang earlier this week.

Now I've come from the RS which is heavy on theft, so I have a small Disklok.

Now when putting in on the mustang I have to use a lot of force to even get it to engage on to the first lock point, this is causing excessive pinching on the wheel. Now this cant be right, and the lock does NOT move freely on the wheel at all. To me it looks like the steering wheel is too thick to accomodate the disklok.

I spent 15 mins trying ot figure out any restrictions and positions and it looks like the thickness is the only thing that stands out, the diameter of steering wheel is well within spec of the small disklok. I know from watching reviews, Ford have changed the steering wheel on the FL S550, but I am surprise no one has mentioned any issues from what I've searched.

So I'm posting here to ask for any advice or to hear if someone has had a similar issue.

Thanks

I use the small disklok as well. I got annoyed after leaving it on the first time to find a dent in the steering wheel where the edge of the metal was sat. (It did go away)

From memory i don’t think it was loose enough to spin freely.

I actually wrap half a mf towel around the 4 & 10 o’clock positions to prevent the denting. Wheel certainly doesn't spin with that!

For my peace of mind, the fact that it’s on there and that it’s a visual deterrent is enough. I’ll keep my keys in a signal blocking pouch too.

I contacted Disklok. My disk is over 3 years old. They revised the design to cater for thicker wheels 2 years ago, so i have ordered a new one which will arrive tomorrow

Yep the lock arrived today and can confirm the small has been revised since I purchased my other one 3 years ago, it is now capable of accepting a thicker wheel. Also got 25% off too so all in all I'm happy

1) it’s supposed to spin
2) turn it 90 degrees so the ā€˜handle’ part with the sliding bolt in it is vertical and not horizontal
