Some extra info on 2019s

I phoned the dealer to ask a couple of questions and he enlightened me on two details of the MY19 cars.

1. There are fewer individual options to choose from
2. Everything will be arranged into the different packs, of which there appears to be only four

From what little info he has from Ford (doesn't even have price lists yet), individual options like rear wing and magnetic suspension can't be selected anymore, you have to choose a certain pack with them bundled in.

Interesting if true.

Less options is never a good thing.

I didn’t want any of the custom packs but I had to have Magneride. Just a way to squeeze more money out of people

They'll charge the same for Magneride and the Wing in the pack, then charge £750 for chrome trim. ;)

TBF, the dealership the broker uses is actually a fleet dealer, not a typical highstreet dealer, so he (surprisingly) knew what he was talking about, thus I trust his word a little more than your usual Ford Store.

Its been like that in the US for years, and some of their packages are a bit :eyebulge:

To get the Auto wipers you had to buy the A Cruise control
Good job I wanted the ACC
And the 401A package which was not cheap, but covered all the best bits
