I recently purchased a set of Diode Dynamics interior LED's and today i have tried to replace the map reading lights in the centre overhead console, after looking at how to videos on You Tube it looked like a simple task of pulling down on both sides of the console to remove it, well can i get it to move no i cannot all i have done is make it wobble and now it does not fit flush but no matter how much force i use it will not come away from the headlining so have Ford changed the design and does anyone know how to remove it without me causing any further damage.

Update apparently it will come off i just need to use a bit more force so i will give it a go tomorrow!!

Not sure if yours is diff to my ‘17 but I tried pulling and gave up - too scared - so pushed it back. I then just used 2 picks to pick out the lamp covers and did it the bulbs that way.
Funnily enough, replaced a duff LED just now - easy.

Its not as easy as it looks on the video. it can be done though. pull down on one side and pushing the roof lining up slightly and you will see the clip. use a flat head screw driver to help you release it. do the same for the other side. change the bulbs. the push the clips down to reseat them as pulling on them lifts them up a bit. thast is why it wobbles now. once you have done that push it back in place.

Finally did this today and the centre overhead console does come off but you need to use a lot of force to remove it, it goes back on a lot easier.

One of the first mods I bought whilst waiting on the car being built was map light button covers in brushed chrome/ally from Big Worm. They would look great if I ever looked at them. Just stick on over the top of the actual buttons.
