Diode Dynamics Tail Light Sequencers

One of my tail light sequencers was malfunctioning, so CJ Pony Parts sent me a replacement set. I figured I'd do a quick video to show what they do for anyone that hasn't seen them in action before. I made a video when I had the sequencers in. They ended up malfunctioning on me, the right taillight would stop working randomly. Had a few instances where people would roll up to me letting me know my tail light was out. Which was weird, because every time I checked it, it was working perfectly. I ended up seeing it one day, and decided to take them off and return them.

Here's my vid with the sequencers (they're working perfectly in the vid) in combination with the 4th brake light kit. I know, it's out of focus. I forgot to focus the camera before recording, and only noticed my mistake after I removed the sequencers.

I've had them installed for a month or so, but decided to make a video of them the other day since I had to reinstall the replacements.

Mine always tick faster because I have the switchbacks up front as well.

But yea, it was frustrating, because people would tell me they're out, I'd pull over a few minutes later, look, and they were working fine. One of the sequencers rattled a little bit, but I don't know if that was the cause for the malfunction.

I just ordered my sequncers with the 4th brake light module, must have been a bad batch made.

I just ordered a set of these thru diode dynamics and i hope i dont have any problems like you guys are discussing. Everything else they sell is top notch so i only expect the same quality with these. Keeping my fingers crossed

My brother has them and has never had a problem. So, I'm hoping my second set holds up. But, it is strange that two of us had the same issue with the right tail light.

i agree the factory should of done this to start. maybe they were worried about certain state and region laws.

Don't mean to drudge up an old thread but I have the same exact issue. Right side brake light intermittently not working with the DD sequencers installed. Very frustrating and scared me that I might need a $1000 tail light assembly. Had them for less then a year. Guess I will return them and sell the replacements. I like what they do but not enough to deal with this every year or so.

I hate to say this, but I don't think I've owned a single diode dynamic product that hasn't failed at least once. (Ex-Wife's HID headlight ballast failed - required replacement, LED side marker light strip - required replacement , Switchback hiccup which required removal and re-installation.

I thought I wanted the sequencers, but I'm not going to take a chance on more things to fail. With that said, the replacement service from DD has been excellent, but I'm tired of having products fail in the first place.

now my right brake light isnt working. I have the sequencer and the 4th brake light harness installed from diode dynamics. the blinkers work on both sides but the brake light doesnt work at all on the right side. I will probably remove everything from diode that i have on the exterior of my car. Almost every single item i have purchased from them has cause me issues
