I am and I think Pat y is on the same one too. The Tamerlane was in Panama last weekend, is now in Newport Virginia and gets to Baltimore SUn / Mon....not that I am sad on ship tracker :)

I will be hounding my dealer for a Xmas pick up, which is very doable if it makes Southampton around the 12th or 13th of Dec !!!

For some reason I thought you guys were on an earlier sailing and different boat, guess my car's passage was booked later than yours. According to MarineTraffic, the Tamerlane left Baltimore at 6.40am GMT today and is en-route to Europe. Happy days!

I've written off any chance of getting the car this year... Looking like 14th Jan.

Why write it off til the 14th Jan?? It could be in Southampton around the 12th or 13th then one day to drive it up. I would be a bit ticked off it took one month to get from Southampton and to you. OK Christmas may hold things up a little but not that long !

By the way Tamerlane has sailed but WWL site is yet to update that I am on it. As always I keep on checking those web sites.

Guess I don't want to be disappointed and I don't trust Ford's logistics to get it to Scotland before the New Year - and the festive period is effectively a two week pause. Basically don't want to wind myself up hoping and wishing for something that might not happen.

Took a good couple of weeks to get my car from Southampton to Edinburgh. Got hung up in Liverpool for days.

Is there a differing process for North of the Border? My dealer is in Warwick which I assume is a transporter no train. Do those in Scotland take another train ride to Liverpool then transporter? If so that's another link in the logistics chain that will add time.

Don't know how it got to Liverpool but I was told it was in a compound there, and it stayed there for a good few days. I guess for the North they have an additional distribution point.

once it hits southampton its the dealers responsibility for picking up the car from there and shipping it to the branch. It took less than 24h for mine from docking in the south to being delivered to dealer in sheffield.
24h later I picked it up.

Slightly off topic.... but just to let you know, Lucas and staff at Warwick were very good once the car landed on UK soil, within a week of it landing it was ready for collection.

Good to know about Ford Warwick as that's who I'd be dealing with, Lucas was great in arranging a test drive etc. but was wondering what the support was like once you pulled the trigger.

TO be fair Lucas has been proactive, when he has had news he has contacted me, although sometimes I knew before him checking sites like research maniac. So outside of being proactive he will get back to you within the day on emails and seems to be genuinely interested in the car. I did the test drive with Lucas but when i rang back after considering the purchase, someone else offered to take the order etc. I refused and waited for Lucas to be back in before proceeding as I got the impression up front he could be trusted !

Exactly, i was the same, i knew some things before him, but only because of this forum and the daily checking of websites like researchmaniacs and WWL.

Cant expect the dealers to be doing this for all their orders. At the end of the day they are stuck to the speed of the Ford systems...god help them.

But he was pro-active and friendly and good to deal with, even when i was hassling him towards the end!
