Impulse control.
I remember a few months ago when people ordered their car, but couldn't wait to get it. Next thing you know they cancelled their order and bought one off the lot, even though it wasn't too their ordered specs.

My car is someone else's rejected - and pretty unique, I think - Special Order. At the last minute the buyer decided he also liked one on the lot. So he flipped a coin.

Just a couple weeks ago, my dealer called me. Someone had ordered a car EXACTLY LIKE MINE (the exact same specs). :eyebulge: He suspects it is the same guy who originally ordered the one I have. No word on whether he is giving up the one he bought off the lot.

He could just be indecisive, or indecisive and wealthy. Either way, I'm a bit bummed mine is no longer a "one-of-a-kind" around here. :headbonk: But I'll get over it.

You forgot the tower brace, the 3.73 Torsen rear, gauge pack inside, aluminum dash, upgraded radiator, and im sure a few more things here and there. But yea, other than that, you got yourself a PP.

You could always add your own "personal touches" to make it unique again .

The car was also Certified Used by the dealership, so it came with the extended bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranties. I have to think the dealership gave the original owner even less, given my $6k discount off sticker. The GT had 380 miles on it when I took delivery.

That's roughly what I saved with X-Plan and incentives at time of purchase. I got 1250 cash back and X-Plan, out the door at like 36k and change.

You paid $4K off MSRP, not invoice. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Obviously, I was just comparing what he was knocking off of invoice as compared to everything I saved off of MSRP via incentives and X-Plan. It's a big hit, not negating that.

Yah it is. The one I'm looking at is $41K MSRP. Invoice on that is like $36800. That means you're look at like $32800 if you traded that back in. That's a big hit...

This is for a Performance Package GT?

Competition Orange Premium GT, plus GT Performance Package and Reverse Park Assist. I paid $5931 under MSRP. The original owner also had a nice tint job done on the sides and rear glass, so I'm just guessing around $200 more saved, there (I really have no idea how much it costs).

Plus, trading in so early with a note still on the car (if it's not paid off w/title in hand), the Dealership is only going to wrap that payoff figure into the next loan... So won't the next loan be ballooned?

Yea you're better of just getting a cool vinyl wrap job, suspension mods and new wheels. Dealers will bend you over for 3200 miles

Please, humor me, what is a vinyl wrap job?

Car wrapped entirely with heated vinyl. Cost about 2-8k and last a couple years.
