Just got word from my dealer not to expect my '16 GT350 till February. I was originally expecting October-November.

I know I was blown up here before for commenting on this. But my money is on the the hold up being a harmonics issue with the 180 crank. The IMSA cars are cracking headers virtually every session on track. And I have heard of lots of other vibration related issues during practice and races. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean full mechanic failure, but non-terminal part fractures. It wouldn't shock me if the production cars were being held till a different balancer is developed, or some other solution. I hope I am wrong and it is something as simple as they are waiting to install a fancy dash plaque with the production number. But when race cars with production engines are having issues, engineers take notice.

Just my two cents, but fire up your blow torches and flame away.

Yep, going to flame away that as BS. There have been many, many test track hours privately and at the 'Ring developing the GT350, long before they were ever given to Multimatic for racing. If things were cracking "virtually every session on track", it would've been obvious in fairly early stages of design verification.

I encourage you to ask some mechanics on the cars why they change headers so often........I can tell you, they are cracked. I am not looking for a debate, I am signing off here and waiting till February for my ride. Have a nice fall everyone!

I'd imagine that if Ferrari... which we all know is the most reliable car ever built, cheap to maintain..... can build flat plane crank cars with smaller displacement, equal or greater HP .... doesn't have these issues. . . then why such a small, unreliable, expensive to maintain car company such as Ford would have the opposite?

It's like Ford needs to go back to the 60's and compete with Ferrari again. . . not to beat them, but to learn how to build an engine?

They were already working/building these engines when the Boss 302 was out. . . that's 3, nearly 4 years ago (2012) . . . and the Boss's - some were already built in 2010!!

Come on. . . really?
*Insert sarcasm/irony*

Two of my Boss cars were assembled in October 2010 with each of the engines being built in July 2010 so these Boss engines are over 5 years old and run just fine.

Last time I had them both out had no problem shifting at between 7000 and 7500 RPM on each car.

Something does not compute here for the FPC engines?

Ford put enough testing into this engine that any harmonics issue would have been ironed out well before the car was officially announced. Now if we are talking something well into the 100s of thousand of miles range...who knows.

Curious what the hold up is, I post in VOA and there are posts of people receiving their Viper ACRs. I know the GT350 was way ahead of this car as far as press release and details is concerned.

What is the hold up????

We really need some news on this board. Nothing to do right now but speculate, which has started to lose its fun.

Agree. Ford said Fall..if January rolls around and no cars have shipped then it's time to set off the alarms. We are all ready to drive ours but I'm not one bit worried about an issue being the reason they haven't shipped.

LMAO and you have all the answers? You better check again as they had failures at the ring. They addressed the issues but maybe it's not working. What do you think those little round brown things attached to the cats are for? If you think 137 2015 GT350's have been sitting for over two months waiting for delivery, of which about half are for Ford execs or FoF, because of panel alignment you better think again.

Yes. Think back to the photo of the race car with the cat sitting next to it. ;)
